Ebay allowing people buy from China infected with coronavirus?

not thinking about it i bought a video game from china a couple days ago. today i received a message from the seller, " OK.thank you very much.and china have virus.need wait About 10 Day shipping.thank you very much understand My friend!"

i did not think anything about buying this item from a china seller until i read this message about how they could not ship out my order because china was infected. i contacted the seller to cancel my order and received no response.

i contacted customer service and asked them to step in and cancel the order, they told me they could do nothing.

ebay needed to stop china from selling until the virus was under control for the safety of its buyers and country.

now i've got an item coming from an infected country that i can do nothing about.

does anyone else see this as a problem?

Re: Ebay allowing people buy from China infected with coronavirus?

I have packages coming in here every single day of the week but Sunday from China. So do millions and millions of other retailers and resellers and buyers and everyone around the World.

Has everyone stopped shopping altogether, because if you haven't, you are buying things in stores right now that may have come in THIS WEEK from China. Maybe that morning. Maybe yesterday.

You are surrounded everywhere you go shopping by newly arrived Chinese merchandise, are we seeing ANYONE getting ANY diseases (and there are many) from any China packages anywhere in the World?

Anyone?

No. It doesn't work that way. Common sense people, common sense.

Yes! I’m in the same boat! I ordered it last week and I can kick myself for not thinking about it!

I would have petted that cutie, also. Unless he was recently traveling on a cruise ship or an airplane load of infected humans.

Well, unlike CoVid, we know the incubation, prevention, etc. for rabies.

Okay, That is just too cute.
Not about the virus. That stuff scares me. Just about petting a fox.

Re: Ebay allowing people buy from China infected with coronavirus?

I am reminded of an old world war two movie where the main characters are assigned to wipe out a reservoir. Charges set, characters run like h###, boom goes the dynamite. And the reservoir still stands. The group looks dismayed but the leader has a smile on his face. They inquire. He explains he didn't have to blow it up, and they hear the reservoir begin to crack. Gravity and force did the rest of the work. He simply set it in motion.

The best "weapon", is the one that doesn't leave a trace back to the one who set it. Set it in motion. Introduce it, and let people's daily actions do the rest of the work.

All of the magazines and newspapers were removed from our local hospital lobbies.
Nosocomial infections.

One group of ladies I know of, wouldn't use the toilet paper in the stalls once it got down halfway.
"Too many people touched it". Half used rolls would stack up in the janitor's closet.
Free toilet paper for anyone who wanted it.

The sellers that say they are in the usa are. The reason the products are coming from china is because they are having them drop shipped

from the site livescience

How long can the new coronavirus linger on surfaces, anyway? The short answer is, we don't know. But if this new coronavirus resembles other human coronaviruses, such as its "cousins" that cause SARS and MERS, it can stay on surfaces —  such as metal, glass or plastic — for as long as nine days, according to a new study. (In comparison, flu viruses can last on surfaces for only about 48 hours.)

Sanitation. Spray the outside with alcohol wearing gloves. Can’t just not do business with China they need all the financial sells they can get right now. They still have families too. Besides most china items take at least 2 weeks to deliver.  don’t think a virus is gonna live that long in a package with out a living host. Lol

Re: Ebay allowing people buy from China infected with coronavirus?

There is not one confirmed SINGLE case anywhere in the World that was contracted by exposure to mail.

I'm cautious but I do not play into paranoia, conspiracy theories, or anxiety. It causes panic which does no one any good.

It clearly is not on mail, packages, in packages, etc.,

All the mail carriers would be dropping with it, UPS, FedEx, customs, on and on. If and when we see that, I will change my behavior. For now, it is business as usual, as it should be.

Re: Ebay allowing people buy from China infected with coronavirus?

Feel like I'm opening myself to indignant replies, but, according to the CDC, this virus is mainly contagious through person to person contact, not package to person.  And it has been stated that the virus will not live on a package traveling thousands of miles.  Feel free to use that information in whatever way you wish.

Hope you have a little basic common sense, viruses cannot attach to products for so long, they can only be transmitted by live animals

Re: Ebay allowing people buy from China infected with coronavirus?

1. A virus couldn't live on a package for more than a few days at most.

2. Pick up some Lysol or Disinfectant wipes........they all mention the Corona virus on them.

3. By the way most people have had a form of the corona virus and just thought it was a cold.
