Somehow a 3rd party got compromised and they posted some bogus merchandise, and then they force others to buy it (bug in ebay, account hacked?). This just happened to me, out $107 right now because of fraud on ebay, and ebay even sent me emails confirming it. Now I have to goe through a claims process because ebay cannot control it's own system. Ebay will never have access to my bank account again. Do not trust them, they can instantly take money out of your account for fraudulent activity, but when it comes to putting the money back in - you have to go through an unnecessary process and ebay even admits the transactions were fraud. I cannot even deposit my paycheck right now because of this. Never again ebay - no longer a trusted source. RETURN MY MONEY NOW!!!

Ebay is pretty much ruined for me now. This was not just someone hacking my account, this was multiple accounts and ebay was aware of it. The charges are still on my bank account. Removing ebay from my bank account removes any security issues. All this other stuff about securing account is moot if they do not have access to your bank account. Ebay/paypal removed money from my bank account due to a fraudulent transaction that they know is fraudulent. The only logical thing to do is remove that link. That is the point of this topic. When someone reaches into your bank account and withdraws money you are going to feel violated - you will feel further violated when no action is taken and you have to prove that you are the victim. My money is still missing ebay - return it now.

If you keep your head stuck under the sand and refuse to take the other actions that will protect your identity, then everything else is moot.
Yes, eBay was aware that the seller's accounts got hacked. They warned you about that didn't they? eBay can't protect your email account, your bank accounts or your computer or other devices. Your eBay account wasn't hacked by somebody through eBay, it was hacked because your other accounts online were not secure enough. If you won't take the simple steps to protect your identity then nobody else can do it for you.
Take responsibility for your own actions.
Most people have no concept of how easy it is to hack a smart phone - I don't use a smart phone for any access to any financial acocunt, including eBay and PayPal. Not my car, nor my house, nor my email accounts.

You've been told what you need to do to ask for it back. *sigh*

Yep, it's my fault for trusting ebay. I accept that. I will also accept the $107 loss due to the negligence of ebay. Can you? What happens when some runs up $2000 and you have to pay a mortgage. The transactions are not safe.

The internet is never 100 percent secure. You have to take steps to protect all your accounts so these things do not happen. Get Malwarebytes on your laptop, Use a good antivirus software program like Norton-- you need Norton and Malewarebytes to work together becuase malware is sometimes not detected with just an antivirus program. Do not buy stuff while you are out and about on a mobile phone, the info is not secure. Log in and out of every site and do not leave sessions open. You will get your money back if this was a bogus hack transaction.

We were sold on the fact that these transactions were safe and we were covered. Ebay has already acknowledged the transactions were fraudulent and these transactions are still going through. Ebay is not a goverment bureaucracy, we have a choice. I have 96 positive transactions and 0 negative. Ebay is now toxic to me. Defend it all you want, but when I eat a food and it makes me sick - I avoid it. The doctor can tell me what I did wrong and stuff - blame me, but when something hurts me and I did nothing overtly wrong - I avoid it. The transactions are not safe. You can and will be billed for purchases you did not make - make sure it is not on your bank account. Yes, I am wrong for trusting ebay. I accept that.

It's also your fault if you lose money because you're unwilling to take the steps to get it back

You are absolutely right. I am at fault for trusting ebay and the policies. I should leave my bank account open to ebay and any fraudulent activities because that is what is best for ebay. Whenever any new weakness is found in ebays system - I should leave my bank account exposed. I understand your reasoning and logic. Unforturnately, I do not plan to go that route. I trusted ebay and was royally screwed.

You are right, I do not get it. I trusted ebay and I got screwed. Ebay knows the charges were fraudulent, they told me so. I didn't tell ebay, they told me. The money has been deducted from my bank account. Obviously I do not get it. Obviously, fraudulent transactions take priority over honest people. I obvisouly do not get it, so my only recourse is to remove ebays access to my checking account. I still do not get it.

That makes no sense at all. No one can force you to buy anything.

Two sellers got hacked and myself, according to ebay. I agree the whole thing makes no sense. I am being stolen from in a way that I do not understand. When it gets to that point it is time to remove ebay/paypal from your trusted source list. This was not as simple as someone hacking my account - this was multiple accounts, both buyer and seller. Something new just happened, paypal is confirming one of the transactions to a yahoo.jp email address, and they are apparently getting ready to ship. So was this or not a compromised seller account and why has this not been stopped?

What you don't get, is that it was not eBay's security that failed.
You failed.
You, like everybody else, are responsible for taking steps to protect yourself and your online accounts. If you won't take those steps, then nothing that eBay or anyone else can do will protect you from the bad guys.
You let the bad guys get into your email account/computer/mobile device/ whatever it was that got compromised. SInce that wasn't eBay, there was nothing eBay could do to stop the bad guys once they stole your identity and used your credentials to access your eBay account.

That will not protect you from the next hacker that goes after one of your other accounts, not related to eBay.
You are still wide open and vulnerable to other attacks.

Ebay's security failed, and big time. They have no way to stop the transaction. They deleted the items so nobody else can 'buy' them, and the links to cancel order point to nothing. My purchase history does not show them - but my bank shows I paid for them. So please tell me that I made the mistake again? Ebay screwed up. I just got a shipping confirmation from paypal - I never got one from them before about an item I bought on ebay. I have usps tracking information now. The supposed compromised seller is now shipping who knows what. The paypal transaction link points to nothing - I just got the email and the link to the transaction shows some picture and says nothing is here.
Let me be very clear here. Ebay and paypal have lost control over these transactions. Nothing on my end could prevent this. Someone got the money and now the items are being removed. If my money is not returned today I am going to create a website showing the transactions and the emails I have received from ebay and paypal. I think if you have your bank account linked to ebay and you see what is happening to me - you will be very concerned.
