This is kind of a long story so pls bear with me. I purchased a cummins Diesel engine on eBay for $3900 plus my engine for the core charge. He sent a shipping company to pickup my engine that all went good. He supposedly shipped my engine April 13th and once it got to the second location in okc. It was “short” meaning the engine never made it to the dock so I called 4 different terminals for shipping company (yrc freight) and they said the engine was lost or the guy never shipped it just sent a paper. So after days of waiting the seller said he would ship another one April 30th he never shipped. May 1st seller said he shipped it he gave me a tracking number I called the shipping company they said they haven’t had a drop off from them in the last 48 hours so I call him on May 2nd and tell him I want a refund and I’ll pay to ship my engine back cause I’m sick of the games. we get into a little argument and he said he was on his way to drop my engine off on May 2nd when he said he dropped it off on May 1st. This guy is a full blown liar he screwed someone for over 10k. He said he was keeping my engine and money. I did not use Paypal I used a debit card so I think it will be hard to get money back. My question is, Is there anything Ebay can do? Can I have his account flagged or something. Hes running a scam business and screwing people for a lot of money. Thanks in advance

Did you pay through eBay checkout? And what is the latest delivery estimate EBAY have you?
You cant have his account flagged. You can leave appropriate feedback. If you paid through eBay checkout and it’s within 30 days of ebays delivery estimate you can file an item not received case.

He is trying to string you along until the buyer protection expires. File an item not received now.

Not through eBay you aren’t. If your debit card has a visa or MC logo, which i am sure it does, you do have protections through your bank. Good luck! Sorry this happened 😞

Please call the police when you get there and have them go visit him.

You took the transaction off eBay you're no longer protected.
Your only hope is to call the bank and see if they will allow you to reverse the charges
He should get Ebay MBG,it is an Ebay transaction.
Some sellers have their own merchant account and do not accept Paypal,so he called and give him his card number, thats fine.
Then the seller marked paid and enter a tracking number, which tells me eBAY has received its FVF fee from him.
BTW,what kind of tracking number would that be for an engine?USPS does not accept shipment exceeding certain size and weight nor does UPS or Fed Exp.

how many engines are we talking about?
1 or two?
it sounds like he does not have the engine and is waiting for someone to deliver or dropshipped to you?
not everyone has a Cummins Engine sitting on the floor waiting for customer.

Misinformation is not helpful. The money back guarantee is very clear. He’s not covered. He did take the transaction OFF eBay. Do you not know how it works when the seller has their own merchant account? Payment still goes through eBay checkout. Payment is not to be made over the phone. The engine was not shipped via USPS FedEx or UPS.

well,in that case,he will have to ask his debit card issuer the bank .
if he is going to New Mexico,he must be making progress ,picking up the engine??
lets hope so.
So,if no Ebay MBG,did Ebay get its FVF?
