Delivery Instructions

Is there a way to include additional Delivery Instruction along with the delivery address? I live in a Gated Community. The Driver needs to use the Call Box in order to gain entry. It’s not a problem with USPS, UPS, FedEx, OnTrac, DHL, Amazon, Walmart, etc. They know how to gain entry into the complex. The other issue pertains to delivery hours. Someone trying to make a delivery when everyone is in bed sleeping is highly inconsiderate. That sort of additional information should be supplied to the Seller along with the Delivery Address.

Re: Delivery Instructions

Add the info (instructions) as a 2nd (1st) line in your eBay registered delivery address?

May not be read or followed.

That's a good option for @house*of*paws who wants to specify: Deliver to BACK entrance only; NOT front door!

But for the original poster, whether instructions are added to the address, or added to the buyer's online accounts with the carriers, no carrier is going to follow instructions to only deliver within certain hours. You're on their route and they get to you when they get to you.

UPS standard delivery time for residential addresses is from 9 am to 7 pm, though as I mentioned earlier I've seen them go to 8pm during times of high package volume end Nov - Dec.

Otherwise the OP would be better served by something like this:

https://postalpro.usps.com/mailing/competitivepoboxes

Getting a PO box with premium street addressing services. Have all packages with all carriers sent to that box and go pick them up during daylight hours.

Re: Delivery Instructions

I always instruct them to make sure everyone is sleeping before they deliver and to make a lot of noise and not to listen to the buyer because it's the sellers responsibility.

And you should make sure that the seller prints that out in large catchy font and tapes it on the front of the package where it cannot be missed by the delivery person whomsoever that may be.

As to the OP's dilemma, ----------------"It’s not a problem with USPS, UPS, FedEx, OnTrac, DHL, Amazon, Walmart, etc" ----------------- I'm bumfuzzled with who the dastardly delivery culprit could be.

It is confusing to follow and I don't fully understand what the problem(s) are, either.

First complaint was how to let carriers know to use the call box for a gated community, but then all the major carriers were listed and buyer said it's not a problem with any of them. So it's not really a problem? Why bring it up?

Second problem was "middle of the night" deliveries, which is puzzling because carriers don't deliver that late. I'm guessing "middle of the night" was an exaggeration due to frustration and the problem is just "after dark" deliveries so maybe 6pm or 7pm? As discussed, that's a buyer problem. We all have different sleep/work schedules and if carrier delivery times don't work with our schedules we make arrangements to have packages held and go pick up on weekends or make alternate delivery arrangements. This is a buyer problem to sort; nothing seller can do about the carrier's delivery route and times.

Third problem was non-delivery and I'm still not clear if there are any missing packages involved or why this was brought up. If packages aren't being delivered and tracking confirms that, that's what eBay's MBG is for and all the buyer has to do is file a non-receipt claim.

Fourth problem was a carrier that throws packages over the fence which is a problem with a specific delivery driver and complaints should go to the buyer's local UPS or FedEx distro center; again nothing seller can do about that.
