Is there a way to include additional Delivery Instruction along with the delivery address? I live in a Gated Community. The Driver needs to use the Call Box in order to gain entry. It’s not a problem with USPS, UPS, FedEx, OnTrac, DHL, Amazon, Walmart, etc. They know how to gain entry into the complex. The other issue pertains to delivery hours. Someone trying to make a delivery when everyone is in bed sleeping is highly inconsiderate. That sort of additional information should be supplied to the Seller along with the Delivery Address.

So who will be delivering your package? If you know that, can you not contact them and tell them how it works? There is no point in including it in a message to the seller, he won't be the delivery person.
There is no point in additional

It would be better if the seller received Delivery Instructions each time a sale was made.

If USPS, UPS, FedEx, OnTrac, DHL, Amazon, Walmart, etc already deliver to your address, they would already know what to do when delivering to your address.
As another poster mentioned, the seller isn't the one delivering packages whomever the shipping service you selected when purchasing, will be delivering.
Delivery services have a schedule to go by, if you're being inconvenienced by being awakened when they deliver, then I suggest you have your packages held by the shipper for you to pick up at your convenience.

What do you expect the seller to do? Seller has no control over carrier's delivery hours. Providing that info to the seller won't accomplish anything.
Seller provides tracking, then it's up to you to deal with the carrier if you have to make special arrangements like having the carrier hold for pickup or whatever.

The Seller selects the Shipper and provides the address along with delivery instructions. That’s pretty much the way it’s done with most shipments. I don’t see any option in my profile to add Delivery Instructions. I think it would make life easier if ebay would include Delivery Instructions along with the Address. These middle of the night deliveries are not appreciated. A certain well known company I won’t shame here in the post had a habit of throwing the box over the fence and hitting the wall in the middle of the night. Not a courteous manner in which to deliver items. When the Shipper is 20-miles away, I am not going to ask them to hold the package for pickup. If it’s just down the street I might do that. I want the package delivered to the front door or mailbox.

Seller cannot provide delivery instructions. There's no place to do that when purchasing the label - not here on eBay.
Looks like you're an active seller. Can you tell us where you enter delivery instructions when buying a label? Can you tell us how you instruct carriers to only deliver during daylight hours?
The buyer should register an account with the carrier so they can provide delivery instructions on their own incoming packages, assuming there are no restrictions.
When labels are purchased using eBay's UPS and FedEx accounts there are restrictions to prevent delivery fraud.
If you have a problem with "middle of the night deliveries" because you're on the end of that carrier's route then you need to contact the carrier and complain.

No, it's not up to the buyer to deal with the carrier. It is Sellers Responsibility to make delivery. If it’s not delivered than they have broken their agreement.
Sellers are required to deliver the item to the address in the Order details, unless the buyer selected a local collection option.
If the item doesn't arrive at the address provided by the buyer at checkout or isn't made available for collection, the buyer is entitled to a full refund, including original postage costs (if applicable).

You're in the US - why are you linking to the UK website policy?
You're also changing the topic to items not delivered. I thought the problem was items delivered at an hour you find inappropriate.
Are you also having non-delivery issues?

You are right. That looks like the Best Answer so far. Maybe Ebay can make it better in the future? Make it a new policy to provide Delivery Instructions whenever they are provided.

Delivery hours is an important consideration. You don't want the Driver showing up in the middle of the night or calling you while everyone is in bed sleeping.

Most of the delivery service's route drivers have scanners with delivery notes in them if you tell one of their carriers or create an account on their sites.
That being said, some carriers do not read the notes or sometimes delivery location instructions that are prominently posted at the door.
I won't mention the carriers name (3 letters) but their drivers seem to miss the bright yellow sign directing them to my doorway which does not face the street. If they do make it to the door, they can seem to see the other bright yellow sign on the storm door telling them to place an item out of the weather in the cabinet right next to the door w/ an arrow, and to press the buzzer button velcroed to the door,
Just last week when one of them delivered a photographic lens, I ordered (which their tracking showed had yet to arrive in my area) on a 12 degree snowy day, they left it on the snow covered door mat. If I hadn't been prepared for their ineptitude that lens could have been ruined.

Except eBay can't do that. Buy a label direct from USPS and there is no way to enter delivery instructions. What you want is not feasible.

OK then you as the buyer have a problem being at the end of a carrier's route. Whichever carrier it is, don't buy listings advertising that carrier. If seller advertises something generic like "standard" shipping then ask them which carrier they are using since you have a problem with one of them.
I don't know of any carrier that delivers in the "middle of the night" as you're claiming. Though I have known UPS and FedEx, mostly during holiday season when package volume is high and their routes take longer to get through, to show up as late as 8:00 pm on the long side.

Hi @pf9000
The shipper(s) has already been selected at the time the item is listed. If more than one shipper is listed … then the buyer is the one who makes the final selection.
You, the buyer, can choose only those shippers who already know how to enter your complex … and can avoid buying from a listing that uses other shippers.
I don’t see the need for a buyer to provide the seller with delivery instructions. Sellers cannot control the behavior of the driver of the truck who delivers a package to you. It would make more sense to have ‘Delivery Instructions’ posted on the outer gate of your complex.
In my experience, I am no more likely to have my delivery instructions followed when buying on a site that requests delivery instructions than one that doesn’t … and my instructions are simple: Deliver to back entrance ONLY. DO NOT leave at front door!
