Bought on eBay with Paypal, seller asking me to email the address for shipping.

Item NO. 363020550831

So I have recently bought an aiguillette for a uniform collection. The seller has been very communicative sending different images of the specific item I asked, and even fixing the shipping issues of when I tried ordering but the cart said I couldn't have it shipped.

Now the purchase has been successfully processed through eBay and PayPal and the seller has asked:

"thanks for the order. sure you would get this aiguillette within this month.I shall ship it today.
please see attachment and send address for shipping."

Do I send the details but through eBay messages, advise them of how to check my details, or am I being scammed, etc?

Thanks for the help.

Did you pay them already? Were you making a purchase of an item that was listed on eBay? If there is an item listing, and you're paying for that listing, then you should be protected by eBay.

Yes, I paid them through eBay it was listed on eBay. So it is safe to message them externally or should I first message them the details via eBay to be safe?

Tell your seller he can get your address in Sellers Hub, just click on the small transaction #, and all the details will come up,including your email address.

Your seller is new, so might not know how to find the SHIP TO address on ebay.

Why not send that screen shot to your seller?  Use the CONTACT SELLER and attach the screen shot to the message.

Re: Bought on eBay with Paypal, seller asking me to email the address for shipping.

Only communicate with the seller using eBay messages.  If you have a problem with the transaction, eBay customer service will be able to access all communications between you and the seller.  If you communicate via private messages (i.e. personal email) then neither eBay nor PayPal (if you paid using PayPal) will be able to access your messages.

In regard to your address, explain to the seller how to access the shipping information on the transaction page.  As stated by others, you may find it helpful to include a screen capture of this information when you reply to the seller.  As a courtesy, you may include (i.e. enter) your mailing address with this information and screen capture in your reply, but be careful to enter the same address in the same manner in which it appears in the eBay transaction.

Re: Bought on eBay with Paypal, seller asking me to email the address for shipping.

Keep ALL messages going through the eBay messages. DON'T communicate outside of eBay. If they are shipping it to you they need to open the shipping options through eBay. I suggest they refund your payment, relist the item with shipping included as an option, and allow you to repurchase the item including the shipping. This way EVERYTHING is done correctly and through the eBay platform. Otherwise you may not have eBay protections.

Good point, I hadn't noticed that the seller was new.

Re: Bought on eBay with Paypal, seller asking me to email the address for shipping.

Keep ALL messages on the eBay platform ALWAYS. Regarding my idea of refund and re listing, forget that idea. I hadn't noticed that the seller was new to eBay. So, chances are, that they just aren't familiar with how to use the shipping interface. I've been selling for six weeks now, and I still can't figure out some of it. I'd follow the advisement of the other posters here about encouraging the seller about how/where to find your shipping address. Good luck! 🍀 I hope everything turns out ok and you get your item soon! 😊
