I bought a counterfeit Benchmade 601 Tengu knife. I did not return the item to the seller and ate the cost because the seller would take the same counterfeit to someone else so he lost that counterfeit. Subsequently I noticed several other counterfeit knives for sale and reported them. One was removed, but several others remain after "review" which are obvious counterfeits. Ebay needs to train their customer service or whoever is reviewing the items further cause they are doing an awful job of it! Ebay is full of counterfeit items!

You had a typical item not as described case, but did not proceed?
If you want to help other buyers, you need to open an item not as described case and go ahead with it.
Otherwise, what evidence is there that this seller is selling counterfeits?
As for eBay's CS reps, you DO realize that no one employed by eBay actually inspects anything that's listed for sale here, right? How many experts would have to be employed to be able to judge the authenticity of anything listed here?
Is it too late (30 days) for you to open a case? And to leave appropriate FB?

You expect Ebay to 'review' the 1.5 billion items listed? Obviously listed items can only be' reviewed' by bots.

You're certainly welcome to stand on principle but if you didn't open a counterfeit return claim, you're SOL.

Your charges of the knife being counterfeit would have carried more weight If you had opened an INAD case, as others have suggested. The seller probably has a boatload more to sell. CS reps don't know much about counterfeit items, they don't catch a lot of prohibited items when reported either. The ones contacted through this page don't even know ebay policy.

TFB, it's not going back and I contacted Benchmade just to to let them know their product is being counterfeited on Ebay! By the way the seller of this particular item has been taken down!

Yes, you are correct! The problem I had was they were returning the counterfeit to the seller, no other option. The counterfeit should be destroyed by them. If that was so I would have returned it. They do not know nor really have the product knowledge to identify a counterfeit. I could tell from the pictures just by looking at the trademark which ones were counterfeit. The counterfeit Benchmade 601 Tengu is real obvious for several reasons as I have the genuine Benchmade to compare it with. I reported a couple more counterfeits after perusing through them, one was taken down and the rest left up. Not good!

Just curious: Who was the "they" who were returning the counterfeit to the seller?
Aren't you the one who had the item?
And, yes, the appropriate step to take would have been to open an NAD case, get prepaid return postage and to then return the item to the seller. Still unsure why you didn't want to do that and be refunded.

I bought what shown as a german trench knife with serial numbers and maker on it.they said the knife was bought years ago at a army surplus store and the cosmoline was removed off the knife just before photos were taken. Only after purchase did I see that ther is a fake alert on this knife to Be a new knife made in india.these new knives can be bought for 60 dollars and then sold it to me for with shipping was 280.oo dollars. I'm new at this hobby and this makes you unsure what's real or not, makes you not want to get robbed again. They new just what say to fool you ,the knife was never bought at a surplus store and never had cosmology on it ,the knife is new and then made to look old .seller says only noticed later says does not accept returns.

"no return" does not mean "no refunds" here on Ebay. All you have to do is fine an Item Not as Described claim and the seller has no choice to allow the return at their expense or simply just refund you. I really do not know why Ebay still has the "no returns" allowed as it means absolutely nothing. The old military knives have been faked for decades. Most are easily spotted as fakes but there are a few out there that are hard to tell...thus why most people stay away from them unless the seller has documentation. Did you check the sellers feedback and see if they have sold multiple of these knives? That is a huge clue right there if so. I would definitely file an INAD and return it in your case and leave appropriate feedback.
