Enter a bid that is substantially above the price that it normally sells on eBay.

Have the highest bid. It works every time.

Assuming that you're asking from a bidder's point of view since your location prohibits you from selling here on eBay, there are numerous bidding strategies that bidders employ. Probably the most important thing to remember is to determine what you are willing to pay for the item and not allow yourself to be sucked into a bidding war with another bidder.
Since eBay auctions are not outcry auctions but rather have a finite bidding period known to all bidders, it is usually a good tactic to place a single bid in the amount that you are willing to pay as close to the end of the bidding period as possible.
Of course, there are probably as many bidding strategies as there are bidders. Some like to place there bids early in case of a tie in which the win would go to the earliest bid placed. Personally, I recommend adding a small amount of odd change to one's max bid in case someone places the same value on the item. Often that small amount of pocket change can determine the winner.

The only winning strategy on an eBay auction is to bid your real honest wouldn't-bid-an-increment-more TRUE maximum that you would pay for this particular item WITHOUT REGARD to what anyone else appears or doesn't appear to have bid. Since what anyone else has or will have bid by the time the auction ends is already figured into the price if you win, there is no need to try to figure it into your bid (other than to assume that someone else is likely to bid about the same amount as you, so it is a good tactic to bid a bit over the round number you likely have in mind as your true maximum to increase your odds of being on the winning side of what might have been a tie or a loss to someone who knows this tactic); all you need to figure is at what price point you would rather someone else get the item than you having to pay more. When you bid, early or late, or whether you put in a lesser bid(s) before your true maximum, those are tactical matters that may or may not influence the behavior of others (other bidders, potential bidders, and the seller) to your advantage or disadvantage.

Please know that people from Sri Lanka are being told by someone/something that 'posting' on the 'ebay forum' will do something for you.
It does nothing.
This is a peer to peer (member to member forum) where you basically are asking questions of other people just like you. You do not get any 'reputation' points' or 'feedback points' for doing so.

Be aware that asking questions here does nothing to help your standing on eBay. There is no link between the community forums and selling. Zip Zero Nada

Bid once.
Bid your maximum-- and don't forget to check how much shipping will be when you set that maximum.
Bid late - most bids arrive in the last few minutes of the auction.
When you see an item that looks good, put it on your Watch List. If you are a forgetful sort, you might prefer to bid one increment over the current high bid. You will get reminders. Save your maximum bid for near the end.

Here are a couple ideas I use in bidding on eBay auctions.. They have worked well for me over for over 20 years.
1) Never bid on an item until the last few seconds. This takes some planning and you must be awake and watching when the item closes. Never show your hand until the item has less than 15 seconds to go.
2} Because of eBay's proxy bidding system, bidding just a bit above the current high bid is useless. When you do bid, if you really want an item, bid at least twice the current high bid. Thrice would be better.
3) There are websites that will (always for a fee) do the last second bidding for you. I don't use them as I don't like giving my eBay login info to a third party.
HTH.
