I have found an item on Ebay I want to purchase for my small business... I reached out to the seller to ask some specific questions about pickup after I pay...
The individual explained the item is located in a different state and there is a separate business and contact person I will have to contact and complete pickup transaction...
Exact location of item and contact information is only available upon receiving total payment.
Does this sound legit...? The seller stopped discussing item with me when I attempted to discuss transaction.

Sounds like a scam.
If it's listed on ebay, keep the transaction on ebay or you'll get taken!

Even if the listing is on the up and up – which I doubt – what if you buy the gadget and it turned out to be in the farthest corner of the country, like Maine, or worse yet, what if it's in Mexico? "Goodbye, seller. Don't take any wooden nickels."

NO, it does not sound legit. On the very slim chance that it is, the seller's asinine criteria would send me in the opposite direction.

Better yet, don't get involved in this "transaction" at all.

You really had to ask?
Report this to eBay.

Location on an eBay listing is supposed to be the location of the item not of the seller.
Too sketchey for my liking.

I would find another seller. That sounds too fishy.
