Fake bids

Hi all, I have experienced a bidder 2 weeks ago that bid left feedback and stated they've submitted payment. Won't answer emails so now I have reported them to ebay. Also this week I just received an email from a bidder who claims that they did not bid on my item and someone stole their password. I suggested that they contact ebay for a bid retraction. My reason for this post is to "get the word out" and maybe watch for trends. I am not really sure if this is common? I haven't really ever seen it before. Both of these bidders didn't have any current feedback and I am not sure why it is happening. My aceos aren't expensive either. Thanks and I hope your sales go a little smoother than mine. I have blocked the first bidder and when the 2nd one gets their bid retracted I will be blocking them too. Thanks for your time, Joy

I think eBay looks at it this way. If the fake bidder hadn't have "bought" the item, it would have ended with the item being unsold anyway. They wouldn't refund your money if no one - fake or otherwise - bid on it.

Since Bonanza has been mentioned & I checked it out - has anyone here tried it and how successful? I like the format a lot better than others so am interested. JudyB

Curious about that myself, Judy. I really like the format of the site . . . very user friendly. AND, you can transfer your eBay feedback over there. -- Kathy

You can also put your listings from here, there, too. I have the latest information on the forums at ACEOenthusiasts (dot) com. At least one well-known ACEO artist is there, not here, now. -- ~Jillian artist, Jillian Crider ... google me!

If I performed the search properly there were 81 aceos sold there in the last year. Average price around $3.00.

I'm going to set up a booth because it's free, but am not going into it with any expectations (at least not yet) of actually selling anything. Right now I see it as a good social networking site. You can join (don't have to list anything), favorite other sellers, chat, post comments, leave "endorsements" for other sellers, and basically get yourself seen. From what I can see, many (most) of the eBay people over there are selling prints, magnets, cards, items from the Cafe. It's kind of a place to store unsold items and maybe get noticed. I've looked at most of the sites competing with eBay, and can't say that I like any of them (some I outright hated), but I did warm up to the Ponderosa pretty quickly. Ebay still has the visibility (maybe always will), but I'm going to throw a few things over at the other place, just to see. -- Kathy

We'll have to drive our own traffic to "the Ranch" - a cattle drive, if you will. (With cows the size of schnauzers, but they're cattle. Sorry, I digress.) eBay will always have more traffic, but if enough folks set up shop at the Ranch and we tell our customers where we are, I think it has potential. As Kathy mentioned, it's a place to store stuff. And it costs nothing unless you sell something. I like it over there even though I've had no sales yet. I've posted links on my blog, web site and squidoo pages. And I just sent an announcement out in my latest e-newsletter. I'm willing to give it a shot! -- -Ann "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend - inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." ~ Groucho Marx

I'm in the "Ranch" now - love the atmosphere there. And for me I think a change that I need because everyone is so friendly and there seems to be a lot going on there. I feel more free with even my explanation of my art work. It's kind of a feeling of freeness. I'm aceodivasplace so check it out.
