Is the promoted listing program still going to only apply to MULTI quantity listings? If so, is there something else tho of us who don't have them can "spend" the allowance on?

.
Will the Promoted Listing work when the potential bidder/buyer searches using Price or Distance as their search filter? or does this PL campaign only work with BEST MATCH or when searching with a mobile device.?

I hope we hear some discussion about this from Ebay staff. In my opinion, this is another move in the direction of Ebay trying to be just another online retailer rather than capitalizing on the wonderful niche they have - unique, one-of-a kind, no longer in stores, items.

dhbookds,
We are exploring expanding promoted listings to single quantity items, but don't have anything to announce yet. You are correct it is currently only available for mult-quantity listings. We should have it more info later this year. Thanks for selling on eBay! Brian

imasuv,
Currently it works with Best Match, but we are looking to extend it to other filters. When ready, we will provide more details. Thanks. Brian

missalayneys,
We like all the inventory sellers bring to our site, especially if it is inventory buyers want. That include mass produced items as well as unique and one of kind items. In fact, one of our largest categories is fashion and many of the sellers sell single item quantity. So, bring multi-quantity, single quantity, one of kind - we like it all. Thanks for selling on eBay!

So, we get $30 we can't use.....seems like, to be fair, we should be able to accrue it pending the addition of single quantity listings.....of course, if that never happens...not so much of a benefit...I think you will agree?

With a store "rent" hike last year and a Store FVF increase this year, coupled with the decrease in the TRSP discount ... The "incentives" just don't seem to be matching up.
A $30 quarterly credit for Promoted Listings is $10/month.
When I spoke with the phone marketing team that was cold calling sellers last week about Promoted Listings, I got a nugget of information.
In my category (Pottery and Glass) the average PL percentage used for effective sell through on a Promoted listing was 8% ... that's a whopper.
I am TRS, with a Premium Store on an annual contract. Currently I have a smidge over 800 listings running. 99% of those fall under the Main Category "Pottery and Glass". All qualify for TRSP.
That means, if I followed that trend of 8%, that (without shipping FVF), I would be paying eBay 17.15% of the promoted sale .. And getting only 10% of my item FVF discounted (and why not on shipping? That's another issue)
I ran a test Promotion in December at 3% for a total of 10 days ... I was not thrilled with the results, especially for holiday rush season. The boost was miniscule, if any. I could see no recognisable difference between my promoted listings and my unpromoted ones.
$10 would not have covered that tiny 10 day promo. If I would have run the recommended 8%, would my velocity have increased? I don't believe so, but I would have paid more....And ran through my alotted $30 in less time.
What else is eBay doing for Store sellers to help increase velocity? Getting rid of off site ads will help, thank you, but ...
What about mobile Store visibility? Are there any plans to make stores mobile friendly, or at least have some indication that a seller actually has a store when a listing is viewed on a mobile device?
And I know that this subject is touchy ... but I would rather pay for Google Shopping Ads if I had a choice between PLs and Google Shopping. Are eBay listings in Pottery and Glass ever going to make it back into Google Shopping searches?

The credit is a quarterly credit and will expire every quarter unless used. We are very early in our beta testing but when we do open this up you will have the credit available to use for that quarter.

So my TRSP discount is cut in half in excange for a $30 PL credit I can't use (being a OOAK seller)?
Thanks.
Don't you think that it's a bit disingenuous not to mention in the announcement that PL's are for multi-quantity items only?

So, another program that is going to happen, whatever may come and when you can't figure out how to do OOAK, with a profit, it will be sluffed off as another 'the sellers spoke and we listened'.
Why does 'later this year' sound like the new 'soon'?

Exactly we are not the large sellers of new or multi quantity items so the $30.00 is nothing to many of us.
it's a throw away , I would prefer to keep my extra 10% TRS+ discount
The large sellers are again the ones who stand to profit. they will be able to use the Promotion credit & will not have the 3rd party offsite ads to deal with
ebay was driving sales away from their own site , so in turn they will remove the 3rd party advertising and lose profit , they will try to gain profit back with the FVF from the sales on it's own site , by reducing our TRS+ discounts & by adding the 4% extra FVF to some sellers for falling below standard
Again comes down to this site is really 2 different type of sites rolled into 1 set of rules for the new, larger, multi item sellers
And I believe when they say they listened to the sellers it is the large sellers not my kind of a selling , because their plans just don't fit my needs
how I wish they would break it in 2 for the large sellers & drop shippers of new items & the small vintage and ooak sellers, life would be so much easier
Never hurts to wish

why offer a credit on something which is still not fully implemented and does not function very well?

The link to how promoted listings works is in the very section of the landing page. We are not intentionally trying to hide this information. But thank you for pointing this out. We will update the FAQs to include this information. Note that Single quantity is in beta testing right now and will be available to OOAK sellers soon. Thank you for the feedback.

@shefs_promotedlistings
Soon enough to not lose my first promotion credit?
If that's the case ebay should have not rolled this out yet or figured a way to make up the difference to sellers who cannot take advantage of it .
Prehaps waited until the fall update so it was a level field for all ebay sellers to take advantage of.
