Is the promoted listing program still going to only apply to MULTI quantity listings? If so, is there something else tho of us who don't have them can "spend" the allowance on?

I really love that part of Ebay; in fact, one of my better selling categories is gently used children's clothing. So, why take away a benefit from ALL Top Rated Sellers (in the form of a discount on final value fees) and give it to only those sellers who sell multi-quantity items (in the form of a promotional credit)? Just trying to understand the reasoning. THank you!

missalayneys,
We like all the inventory sellers bring to our site, especially if it is inventory buyers want. That include mass produced items as well as unique and one of kind items. In fact, one of our largest categories is fashion and many of the sellers sell single item quantity. So, bring multi-quantity, single quantity, one of kind - we like it all. Thanks for selling on eBay!
Except those of us that sell OOAK items cannot utilize the $30 Promoted Listings credit that is being given to TRS members, so another useless benefit along with a 50% cut in our FVF savings. You should post in the Sellers Update Announcement that this benefit cannot be utilized by those not selling multiples as it is a very misleading statement the way it is.

Thats just how Ebay operates, charge now for things that we may be able to supply in the future. Last Spring Update they dramatically raised the price on the Anchor Store in May with the promise of Special Top Notch Customer Service Reps just for them, but of course these were not going to be available until July. So once again the sellers had to pay for something before it was available.

We are currently beta testing single quantity, one of a kind items, for Promoted listings. Our hope to release this in time for when all the changes go live. Please stay tuned. thank you!

dhbookds,
We are exploring expanding promoted listings to single quantity items, but don't have anything to announce yet. You are correct it is currently only available for mult-quantity listings. We should have it more info later this year. Thanks for selling on eBay! Brian
So what you are saying is you are giving nothing at present to sellers who sell unique/single items, and only those big sellers that sell lots of the same items?

Promoted listings so far was only available for multi-quantity listings. We are beta testing the product for single quantity fixed price listings right now. Our hope is to release it in time for when the seller release changes take effect. Please stay tuned. Thanks!

And since they are taking away the 3rd party ads, (or not), there will be all kinds of the multiple international seller cheap barbie doll sized clothing ads all over my listings. You all see how this works? Now they will have MORE of an advantage over us. MORE junk to clutter our listings, MORE cheap dollar store stuff. I think I would rather have a retailer's 3rd party ads on my listing than what ebay has planned. It just never ends.

Hi, sorry please let me clarify the concern around 3rd party ads. We are removing 3rd party Product Listing Ads (text ads with product images). Other 3rd party ads such as text based ads (with no product images) and banner ads will continue to exist at this point in time. This will significantly reduce the competition for our sellers.

This was already answered on the appropriate thread as not clarified or able to be clarified at this time. What you type is not what your policy states, but thank you.

I am a very small seller and I keep seeing my "benefits" for having a Basic Store being less and less beneficial. Like many others I understand that fees have to go up, but you keep increasing fees, to cut discounts to make us believe you give us "something" in exchange, when like in this case only some sellers can use the $30 credit.
I hope it is true that it will be extended to single items, or the "perks" will be worthless in no time.

Please start one year..any year..of announcing positive things that HELP sellers instead of charging higher fees and making it more difficult to obtain discounts like you do every year. It is corporate greed and disrespectful to sellers who make this site a truly unique experience for buyers. RESPECT THE SELLERS!

Then why does Ebay not wait until they have a finished product that will work to make the announcement that we are going to take 50% of your TRS+ discount but are going to give you $30 a quarter in free promotional listings?
What should be happening is the 50% reduction in discount should not occur until we get the benefit of the promotional listings. Once the OOAK promotional listings are ready to be used then Ebay could announce that they are reducing the discount as announced in this update but you will also get the free promotional listings.

General Reply, not to David ...
I feel like my post was just ignored ... Since Mr Burke hasn't been back to this thread, could you comment on anything I had to say here in post #8?:

Because chinese sellers use MQ listings all of the time(to get their listings just to show up on top by listing an always out of stock 99 cent item while the rest is 20-30.00).
Need any more reason?
