We’ve heard from thousands of sellers who want to promote the eBay brand and grow their business on eBay. Shipping your items with the eBay logo on tape, boxes or mailers is a great way to drive consumer awareness about your eBay business and drive traffic back to eBay, which helps you and other eBay sellers. Sellers have also told us that the eBay logo creates an impression of value.
And because eBay-branded shipping supplies are produced in large quantities, you can buy these premium-quality shipping materials at very competitive prices.
I guess they mean creates an impression of value that says "steal me"!
POMG..... They've "heard from thousands". Well lets see what happens when they hear from MILLIONS of sellers about some of the outragious changes they propose. Lets see if thye take any action. I'm betting on NOT!

Ever since Ebay required UPC my sales tanked because I make handmade. I had a store, did well with it, but thank God I closed it and did not renew it. I now am getting very few sales. How can I list something as new and have no UPC and still get sales now? I can't, and with all the nonsense Ebay does, like siding with a buyer no matter what and refunding thieves, I think it is just time for me to close up and ride into the sunset. It's sad, and I think it will be even more sad for Ebay some day. They single handedly cut off their nose to spite their face and I think this is all going to catch up to them someday. Has anyone had any luck in any other venue selling handmade other than Etsy, I am there already and love it.

You have to remember this. ANYTHING EBay changes only does ONE THING and one thing only. It puts more money in the share holders pocket. Using the guise of "GETTING YOU MORE SALES" is always a precurser to I'M GOING TO BE PAYING MORE.
ALWAYS...

Will be interesting to see if this change puts the kibosh to their free listing promos. Only time will tell.
You can bank on that.

... plain brown (unprinted) boxes would be less expensive to manufacturer ... I know, have been in the packaging industry for over 30 years. I would be interested to know the spec on the corrugated they plan on using for the boxes ... could be a weaker structure. If anything, get the tape rolls printed instead.
On another note, is it wise to advertise your box is an eBay package? Wouldn't that invite more tampering?
i now use Stamps.com for shipping so no where on my package does Ebay's name show up and I definitely want to keep it that way. Why make it obvious for those who walk up and steal packages from mailboxes and porches that this is an Ebay purchase. Just makes it that much more enticing to take.

Does Stamps.com have a feature to automatically upload the tracking info to eBay listings?
Yes, it takes care of everything. I run the batch file to download all the items I need to ship, add any other items I need to ship from other sources and then I print. Once printed the tracking information is automatically uploaded to ebay and ebay sends out the notices like always.
Also if you ask for the special Ebay account they will waive the $15.99 a month fee. The account does not have all the bells and whistles but works just fine for me. Also I like the fact I can print bulk labels numerous times throughout the day and then still only print 1 scan sheet at the end of that days shipping (or morning before the carrier comes). I have found it to be glitch free overall and works great for me.
One glitch they do seem to be having on SOME Ebay accounts is with the International Shipping. It seems to pick and choose which ones it allows to be printed. Now this was a manually entered transaction so that could also be the cause, but I wanted to be straightforward with the evaluation. They are currently working on a solution for this, but truthfully if you do much International shipping you probably get better rates through the Ebay shipping, especially if you are TRS+.
But outside of that, I love it and would not consider switching back.

I will definately keep tha tin mind, thank you. Do you get discounts on the postage? Can you change the label size for each label printed - or for a batch?
When Ebay had an issue 2 years ago with not having the option to print the new postage (when Parcel post went to parcel select) I went to stamps.com for 4 months (YES..IT TOOK THE CRAYON EATERS AT EBAY THAT LONG TO FIX IT) There was no shipping discount.

Parcel Select IS the online-discounted equivalent of the service now known as Retail Ground; both were formerly known as Parcel Post. So there's no "online discount" to show with Parcel Select.
The stamps.com website promotional page mentions Commercial Plus pricing, but from what I've read here their prices for Priority Mail labels are Commercial Base, i.e., the regular online rate that you'd get anywhere else (Endicia, eBay for non-TRS, etc.).

Absolutely! Those eBay brandings are giant "Steal Me!" stickers.eBay is just completely clueless on all fronts.
I always leave ebay on my labels. Never had a package stolen.

Ok, I get to PAY more to be able to BUY Ebay products? I already get free boxes and envelopes from the postal service, why in the world would I want to BUY the same free items from Ebay? I would think that with the increase in price we should not pay even more, but get more advertising out there to bring in buyers. Also asking for us to give 30 day return policy. They called me and wanted to convience me to participate. I flat told them that I am not their BIG BOX store and would not participate and the rep hung up on me before I even finished. And you want to know what all those employees do during the day, sell on ebay. I was told by a rep that all listings are done from work and they get more free listings for working at ebay. So, why don't all of us apply to ebay to be an employee, get free listings and list from work.
I have also started listing on another site, it is slow, but fees are much, much lower. All listings free, and final value fees are half of what ebay has. As this site gains more exposure, I will eventually leave ebay completely.

I love how ebay's message starts:
Better benefits, better tools, better experiences for sellers. oops you forgot MORE COST !!!
This is just another regular typical ebay "update" .... as usual:
*NOTHING puts more money into sellers pockets.
*its a better experience for buyers
*equally as easy or easier to get ripped off by buyers
*ebay makes more money
*The s#!t pie they are about to feed you is covered in pretty frosting to cover up and "soften" the blow of losing more money from a sale and or putting up a listing.
This company is such a money grubbing pig juggernaut!
Percentage wise these increases are ridiculous.. and ebay is counting on you not knowing math and not realizing the grand scope of things. Even small ones that you THINK are not a big deal are a BIG deal to ebay because of the MILLIONS of items that are sold daily
the designer listing cost seems like nothing... .10 cents to .20 cents... BUT that's a 100% increase folks. what if your rent or mortgage went up 100%? ebay just doubled their profits over night right there in that category!
these "small" increase are 100%, 33%, 60%...etc...ummmm thats NOT small. How much of a difference would it be if YOUR paycheck went up 33 or 45%??
this company can't even make a decent message board that brings them to the 21st century. Im glad im selling locally with wallop, offerup and with other online competitors that are much better than this cash cow hungry dog.

Posting*master is correct...
Stamps .com offers the Commerical Base pricing the same as any online vendor of that sells online postage, including ebay...
The only discount ebay gives above that is for TRS+ items and that is ONLY on Priority Mail, and that is approx 3% now after the USPS price increase...
I switched to Stamps.com when ebay had the debacle with the USPS price increases, and the supposed "negotiations", and the $2.60 rate for 1-3 ounce FCP instead of $2.54...
I have the free Stamps.com account for ebay, and love it... No more ebay glitches ,we can not print your postage at this time, no one trying to tell me I am being given an "EBAY" discount... I am a TRS+ and I even take the 3% hit on Priorty Mail , just on principle,as I refuse to give ebay my shipping business ( and ebay does make money on every label printed) after the way they handled the USPS price increase, granted most of my items ship FCP so I have very few Priority Mail parcels...
I would highly recommend getting a Stamps.com account, if for nothing else as a back up postage printing source...
