When I list an item, there is an option to collect sales tax. You can
even specify the amount for different states. Since eBay appears to be
collecting taxes automatically now (and you don't have the option to
turn this off), what is the point?
I researched fees for selling before creating a listing. Everything I've
found seems to indicate that for this category, the seller fee is 3.5%.
However, I was charged $7.08 for a $109 sale which is more than 3.5%.
What gives?
