Be warned

I want to warn people that all selling platforms on the internet will be selling a bunch of Looted- Stolen items from the Riots. A whole bunch of new sellers will make accounts to sell their stolen goods.

It makes me sad that some will want stock prices to reflect increased sales of stolen items as genuine profits.

God bless

A Gucci store along with the other high-end stores attracts tourists who might purchase something from that Gucci store all while spending money at local mom-and-pop establishments while visiting. Also, people work at these stores like Gucci and do get a competitive wage (a manager makes over 100K, store associates 40K-50K and those employees end up paying state taxes that help fund schools/infrastructure.
All of these "large profitable companies" started out as small companies and are vital to the economy just as much as small businesses.

They could do A LOT more.... how about apprenticeships, healthcare, scholarships to college to poor black teens to learn a skill for a decent paying job rather than stealing for a living?   No, I guess gucci just is too poor!! 🙂  (sarcasm font)

Re: Be warned

According to Glassdoor and the few job openings I just looked at, they do offer medical benefits.

New York City already has "tuition free" college programs for low-income students and its paid for with state/local taxes. I'm sure most of these large corporations have scholarship programs if you search for them. I worked for a large corporation at one time and they had a college reimbursement program.

If someone is out stealing for a living, most of it has to do with upbringing.

I'm talking about healthcare DIRECTLY to LOW INCOME BLACK communities.  I'm not talking about their highly paid employees.

IF YOU SEARCH FOR THEM.  How is a low income black teen supposed to navigate how to find these scholarships??  Their parents never went to school.  I go to city college, and thankfully in my city, they automatically link up online low income homeless and/or disabled students to scholarships, even without stepping into a school counselor's office.

If someone is out stealing for a living, most of it has to do with upbringing.

If black people can't connect with well-paying jobs like whites, don't have assets like houses like whites, don't have good educations like whites, can't start businesses and own houses easily because DISCRIMINATORY banks won't lend to them like with whites, don't have any support with resources since they live in poor black projects where everyone steals to get ahead, then it's the SYSTEMS IN PLACE that are NOT there to help them.

Re: Be warned

To the poster right above my posts,

you realize that when blacks are given vouchers AWAY FROM PROJECTS to live in better neighborhoods, that their youngest children do NOT steal, do NOT sell drugs.  The children learn that education is important so they go to school, get great paying jobs or start their own businesses.  You could say it's their upbringing with better schools around them, with neighbors with resources to help & support them emotionally & help them get financial access to start their own businesses, but it's all the SAME THING - you need a COMMUNITY to support an individual.  The individual themselves in a BAD situation like stuck in the Projects will find it EXCEEDINGLY DIFFICULT to get out of their bad situation.

You're not thinking broadly enough. I get it. Most have been taught to be a followee.

How many have purchased obnoxiously expensive items from a celebrity? I'm talking 400% to 800% markup. Expensive handbags and shoes/clothing.

They go to places like India and Bangladesh, bribe local authorities to not look. They open slave pens and sweat shops, fill them full of underage children working in horrible conditions. They work for .15c to .45 cents an hour.

Now, why aren't they made here to provide jobs for the lie of "we're in this together"? Heal society, and provide them a way to take care of themselves. The only thing done today is providing jobs for machines and robots in the USA? I've never seen a robot or app walk into any store and be their customer.

Stop following the lie. A followee sees the rump in front of them. Come to where the air is clear.

I read in the news how a cop was saying how if a protester stole a gucci bag, then that's not protesting.  But when you think of it, how much does gucci and other high designer companies do to help the lower class, the lower class blacks, etc.?  I agree that stealing from a mom and pop biz is wrong and not a real protest, but gucci who makes millions of $$$'s???  These large profitable companies who usually hide their taxes offshore should be taxed high and those taxes should go to help the low income communities around them in the forms of food, income, apprenticeships, healthcare, jobs, schooling, etc. rather than all that money just going to spend for more police.

Not sure I follow your logic.  So you think Gucci products are only sold in Gucci stores?  And not sure why you are picking on Gucci, but since you did, did you even take the time to see if you are even correct in what you are saying?

Honestly what is your beef with Gucci.  How much do you think they should give?

Re: Be warned

I stand by what I said. Whether its a "big business" or "small business", nobody should be stealing from them.
Back to the subject of the thread, I doubt anything stolen will end up on ebay, but who knows?
I'm going to now bow out of this thread.

Re: Be warned

Thanks for those links, mam.  I actually have no SPECIFIC beef with gucci but a beef in general with big businesses who hide their taxes, hire third world employees instead of americans when they don't need to, and they manipulate/bribe governments into giving them lots of subsidies(paid by the common taxpayer like you and me), shrink their taxes to $0 using "foundations" and other "legal" devices like offshoring, and then giving nothing or next to nothing back to the communities.

It's good gucci is giving to scholarship funding for the diverse low income students, but in a sense, they COULD do more.  If they REALLY cared about poor blacks and not just want to chant the "black lives matter" mantra, they could fund schools with better equipment & teachers in low-income black communities.  They could help fund healthcare for them.  They could DIRECTLY apprentice black youths in the projects to go into fashion and make more money rather than turning to stealing or selling drugs.

Guess you missed the very expensive cars that drove up to the stores, dropped off looters and then picked them up again. I think they have IDs and big bank accts. oaklandmaryland  - unquote

I haven't missed  much of the coverage  of this insanity  I assure you .. The expensive cars  you seen  dropping off looters  could be owned  by criminals  who have bank accounts . However  I assure you that the majority  of the  looters  themselves that have been  breaking into store fronts and stealing everything in sight  do not have bank accounts.  Tulips

Those  comments might make sense  if there were no African American adults who grew up poor  but now enjoy a normal successful  life  with a good job , home , car  etc . The trouble is  there are millions of them.  If there  was true generalized   racial discrimination  going on  throughout the nation  then  none of those people would exist as they do.   Tulips

Actually, NO, the govt has NOT done enough to help poor blacks or even those WHITE people in the MIDWEST who lost their jobs to 3rd world offshoring.   Go and view the healthcare systems and help for the poor in the more advanced EU countries or even Canada, and you will be surprised.  You notice, the Republicans keep CUTTING the programs or ELIMINATING the programs in those parts of the country they control.   If you live in their areas, I pity you.

If that's how you or anyone else thinks, then I'm not going to continue to argue this point.  You have to have much more knowledge of various SUCCESSFUL government programs and systems in order for us to continue this discussion.

Our city and various other cities defunded the police not by intention in our city but because we didn't want our property taxes raised.  And true, we can't have the police anytime you want especially if they have to deal with gang violence, but then, we have COMMUNITY SYSTEMS in place USING CITY GOVERNMENT MONEY  to pay for these WELL DEVELOPED SYSTEMS.

The blacks WERE FORCED to come here.  The whites FORCED THEM HERE TO BE THEIR SLAVES!!  It's easy to say "pull your bootstraps" except when you DON'T HAVE ANY.  Imagine if ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS HAD NO MONEY.  Your school's a mess and hardly anyone there has ever attended high school or college?  Your parents have never gone to high school or college?? Where are bootstraps then??
