I want to warn people that all selling platforms on the internet will be selling a bunch of Looted- Stolen items from the Riots. A whole bunch of new sellers will make accounts to sell their stolen goods.

It makes me sad that some will want stock prices to reflect increased sales of stolen items as genuine profits.

God bless

Somehow I don't think the looters are going to patiently list their loot on eBay in little listings where it can be easily tracked. If it pops up here, it'll be about fifth hand and the individuals may not even know it's hot by then.

I imagine that a lot of stuff for sale on Ebay fell off a truck.

@waba_wookie

I'm with @m60driver... I think that's a non-issue for eBay.

Nothing new. Stolen items are likely being sold on eBay everyday, and have been for years.

Keep in mind that everything stolen in the community was intended (by the store) to be sold in the community. That means the demand exists locally.

I think most merchandise will stay there. Stores determined there was enough demand at retail prices, and prices just got slashed in half or better. Trading some things with a guy you know down the street is a lot safer (and more efficient) than signing up on ecommerce platforms that you must tie to your actual bank account.

Seems unlikely to me. I don't see many looters tying their bank account to the goods they looted. Maybe a few, but just maybe.

While this is against the Ebay rules as it is stolen goods, I'm unsure what you expect for us.  We can't identify that they are stolen products anymore than we can any other time of the year.

What do you think Ebay can do or the members of Ebay can do to prevent this or stop them?

I hope the looters didn't take covid masks or any hand sanitizer to try to sell here. 🙂

The poster is just making a statement. Actually a buyer of such goods could be damaged if anything big were to be traced back by police as stolen.

Thanks for your post. I understand these are already being listed on local Craigslist accounts. I'm looking for that $380,000 Rolls Royce they stole. Hoping it shows up for a couple thousand. ha ha

"little listings"

Strange use of an adjective, eBay and its little listings

Hark! is that a worded echo way above, that I hear; could it be an omen, are a link in destiny's chain.

It's seems to me, there were similar thoughts awhile ago: likened thoughts: let use that adjective to express those likened thoughts: little virus... How did that turn out...

I want you and those alike to understand something about me, and my thoughts, to understand what proactive means, if no more than an announcement. A proactive approach.

I hope and pray eBay, is addressing the issue in a proactive light, and, I hope pray they'll let it be known.

This is why: my son is an inner city police officer, his job is very difficult, as I would imagine of many other police officers.

I asked him about the current events, and, in brevity, this is what he said "Pop, there are bad apples everywhere, we have 'em too. And justice most be served thoughtout, regardless of where it falls, and we can't give up or makes excuses for those bad apples; if we do, they'll always be there."

I haven't slept days, can you wonder why? And to add to my sleepless nights, we have a President that wishes to incite voilent...

Please understand my feelings : (
