Background Removal Tool

I have an old Android phone. I have Android version 5.0.1 on the phone, which can not upgrade beyond that level. Will this support the Background Removal App, or will I need a newer version of Android (and thus a new phone). 

Are there any plans to bring the tool to PCs? And if so, what is the timeline?

Yes, I am wondering the same thing!

I especially could use it on my PC since that is where I download my pictures

from my camera..I have a newer Samsung phone, but I am not getting the new Background

removal feature from the app on my phone 😞

I have the newer Samsung Galaxy 10 so I signed out and signed back into Ebay app, no options for new background removal feature. I re-downloaded the Ebay app, still nothing. I don't understand why Ebay assumes we all use our Cell phones to do business, I use my Laptop and Desktop, not my phone!

This feature only works on the latest version of the eBay app (5.39 or newer for iOS; and 5.40 or newer for Android).

For iOS users:

This feature is compatible with the following devices: iPhone 6S / 6S Plus or later, iPad (2017 or later), iPad Mini 4 or later, iPad Air 2, iPad Air (2019 or later), all iPad Pro models.  

This feature is not compatible with the following devices: iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad Air, due to their technical processing limitations.

For Android users:

This feature is compatible with the following devices which support ARM64:

Samsung: Note 10, Note 10+, Note 9, Note ,8 Galaxy S10, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6

Google (LG/Huawei): Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel, Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3A, Pixel 4

OnePlus: OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T

Sadly that could be a major fight for one and all that just feel more comfortable on a PC or really have no use for a cell phone of any shape or size. Even for me it's getting harder and harder to log in with my  Commodore64  ;-). I'm going to have to sell the farm and buy something that can at least run windows 3.1 at a bare minimum.

eBay is only "exploring" this? Why wouldn't this tool be designed to be available for use on most of the listings on the site first, not for just a minority of listings?

We understand the eagerness to have the background removal tool available on desktop.  We’re currently in the early stages, but we do plan to expand to more platforms in the future. Thank you
