Unplanned Community Outage

Hello all,

For about 8 hours from midnight to 8 am PST the community had an error that was preventing login. This impacted all eBay communities globally, but now has been fixed. With luck most of you here in the US were not aware since it happened during our night and early morning. There was no known impact to your stores or other areas of the eBay website.

I'm sorry for the issues if it affected you or your ability to access the community here. The problems now have been resolved and the team is working to investigate how to prevent it happening again. Please let me know if you have any questions!

I am still unable to sign in as I keep receiving message to try again later. It has been happening all day with this issue. The fix has not been implemented or server still not restored as of yet.

You have a serious problem with you Bids/Offers page. On a desktop, If set to more than 10 items per page, it shows none of them.

I am not the only one experiencing this problem, I have had clients reporting the same, and it is been going on for a few days.

You are probably not getting many reports, because your help pages, do not offer the option of contacting someone for technical issues.

I would seriously look into the problem and fast, or you will start seen many auctions been cancelled.

Regards

Robert

Hi, I didn't experience any issues concerning that but I do have a different issue. I've been buying and selling on ebay since 2002. I just opened up a new, 2nd ebay account ( qualitytreasures1 ) so I could sell other items outside my "niche". I opened the new account yesterday on 5/20. I currently have 17 active listings on that page but when I go to any one listing, and click on "See Other Items", it takes me to a page that says "0" results. When I click on my new username, it says "Items for sale "0". Is this a glitch or is it because it's a brand new account and needs more time to index and populate the 17 current active listings on that page? If people can't find my items because your system is telling them I have nothing else for sale, they go away. Could you please address this issue.

@epictreasure

New items can take up to 24 hours to be indexed and appear in search; longer if you revise them before they appear.

If it has been more than 24 hours since the last revision and you still do not see an item, post an item number.

Hi @toberone71 - will you let me know more about what site you're trying to access? Logging into the Community should work without an issue at this point in time.

If you're referring to logging into your eBay account there have been several reports of this and we are reviewing further. I'll add your account to the open ticket. Thanks!

Hi @epictreasure - chiming in to say that @eburtonlab gave the right advice on this.

Once listed, your items can take up to 24 hours to integrate into search results. If it has been longer than that time, please consider either posting a thread on the tech issues board and sharing an example item number, or contacting CS so they can review.

For what it's worth, when I look at your profile I see 3 items currently, so I think things are in motion and getting updated. Thanks!

Hi Tyler,
Yes you are correct. I looked at the page earlier today and saw the same three of my items as well and came to the same conclusion. It just needed time for my items to start indexing. I just now looked at it and it's now showing ten items so the process is in motion as you said. Thanks for your response.

The issue has been solved. As you said, it just needed time to start indexing items. I just looked at it and now there are 10 of my items listed (out of 24) so the process has started. Thanks for your input.

Thank you for posting this. I happened to be one of those who tried to log in and couldn't. At first I worried that I had been banned from the community and wanted to go through some of my recent posts to see what I could have posted to warrant this....but I couldn't see anything because I simply could not log into my account for the community board.

Finally I figured an outage was at play and I went to do other things. By the next evening all was good and my account was back. Now I know what actually happened....

I'm having the same trouble too, with both of my accounts. I am receiving the same message when trying to log in. It took me three tries to get into this account, which I finally did on the third time. It took me two tries to get into my other account.
