Does no one have notice the amount of free listings for your subscriptions decreased without listing any item?

I haven't checked my account if that have been happening in the past months until today 1st of August. They were not relisted automatically either manually, but the amount of my monthly free listing is still decreasing.

Your items are GTC listings.  GTC listings use 1 (free) insertion each per month when they "roll-over".  Starting this month (August 2019) eBay changed so that items will always relist on the same day to avoid using insertions twice in some months.

The free listings didn`t decrease, but eBay found a way to charge us the fees by misleading and didn`t standing by its own policy. I posted in this board, check for more details what`s going on.

Also, check your account (of course, it is August 1 and an invoice has been generated for July, so you can`t check right now, but yesterday you could) to see for charges on July 31 for the items which were still active and NOT relisted (YET CHARGED). On August 1, the same item, which were charged fees for items listed on July 1 (and by the new policy, it is not 30 days anymore, but the same day of every month) were again incurred a listing fee (if you had free listings left, they were taken out for the double charge). Basically, eBay listed items for 31 days (and Hub displayed that), but they didn`t change the billing and still used old 30 days for billing. The system was also set to charge again after 31 days. Now I doubt it is not intentional.

I brought this matter to eBay yesterday`s morning, reps were inapt, a manager was supposed to call me back and refund the fees on two of my account, yet it is still a mess. The board supposed to be monitored by employees, and if it was a real tech glitch, then I would think someone from eBay would respond here. But since it`s been ignored, this is a new way to charge relisting fees - not once, but twice, in addition to taking away the ability to cancel a listing closer to the ending time.

I am canceling all listings which have 1+ day left trying to avoid this dishonest way to charge the listing fees not only on the items I planned to cancel and not relisting, but double charging. I wish eBay just increased its fees and stop playing those nasty games.

eBay changed same day of each month on July 1st, not August 1, yet it didn`t change its system, so we got overcharged without an ability to cancel before the end to avoid the fees. I got charged on July 31 and August 1 for exact same items!

Your not crazy. I only listed 10 items this morning with NONE rolling over till later tonight and I have been charged 13 total listings on my counter. It is happening to me as well

eBay already charged you/us for the active listings, which didn`t end and have less than a day. If you don`t cancel them now, you will be charged again when the actual relist will occur. If you cancel, eBay already got its money (or deducted from free listings), so you can`t win.

Just go ahead and cancel the listings with 1+ day, otherwise, you will be charged again and again TWICE.

There are many many posts about this on the selling board. Must be the latest glitch. People are being charged for GTC listings a day BEFORE the listings rollover.

I have posted the following in the Selling Forum, hoping for a prompt reply.

Yes. Please assist.

I hope I've come to right place to address this issue, if not, please direct me to the proper channel.

The CSR is inundated with calls regarding this matter and no one seems to know about this problem happening.

Speaking for myself, generally I:

1) make use of the "Ending Today" on SH (seller hub) to organize all the GTCs.

2) Today, there is no items on "Ending Today"

3) However, 6 items that are scheduled to end Aug 2, 10:13 am pdt has been taken off from my basic Fixed BIN

(250 allotments).

4)  Today, I only used 5 out of the 250 Fixed BIN.

Please advise, should I cancel all the 9 items ending Aug 2, 10:13 am pdt to avoid this issue pending correction.

This ending 24 hours ahead of end date schedule has not happened to my account before.

Thank you for reading my message tyler@ebay .

Many are reporting this and other issues with GTC listings and incorrect relisting fees eBay is charging.

Hi @songbirddu7! There was a technical issue that impacted some members this week, specifically:

Some Good 'Til Cancelled listings which renewed early in July (July 1 & July 2 as an example) were charged a 2nd insertion fee after 30 days passed instead of renewing the following month.

The appropriate teams are aware of the issue, have identified the cause and corrected it. Additionally they are currently working to identify and credit listings that were double charged incorrectly in July.

Moving forward this will not occur as we finalize the transition from 30 day renewals to monthly renewals. Thanks!

Technical issues

Tyler,

Mine are still doing this today.

I have a store with 250 listings. Yesterday 2 were used and the items still had 22 hours+.

When they really did roll over today - poof! another 2 listing gone.

Since I have a store I was told I can not get any "fees" refunded because I have not incurred any fess.

I pay for my store and should not have less listings because of an eBay issue.

I pay for 250 GTC listings and thats what I should have available.

What are they going to do for those who just lost listings?

i am not surprised. the reps are not informed enough to help. i spent years on a problem and now the problem is back. they dont have enough bandwidth to take in all the data when you use the bulk relister. i thought the problem was over but today i noticed it is here again. EBAY needs to get its software act together. my next email is to the presidents office. we are all losing money as a result of this problem and others. endless. why cant they get their act together after being in business for over TWENTY years.

if they have given birth to this idea of on line sales they should nurture it until adulthood. they are not doing nearly another. i have asked many people if they buy or sell on ebay. complete strangers. they said they didnt even know the company still exists. no wonder.

what a mess! try selling on sites that dont charge you per listing. so much simpler. they are forcing people to abandon ship.

i have less stress not calling customer service. they dont follow up and cant help anyway. the reports to tech are registered and it takes forever for minor issues to get resolved. why bother. even writing these posts are to help others. this isnt helping me at all. i just found 5 items that were not relisted when they were sent in. a problem i reported almost 5 years ago. no sales on them mean no money to ebay. fine with me ..posting them somewhere else too so i can have a shot at selling them. top brands too...you know..like anthropologie lululemon etc. give me a break and do something!

Most grateful for your comeback. tyler@ebay Per your above-mentioned highlighted in green -

1) ALL sellers be they non store + store owners who were impacted with the incorrect ending of their GTCs -

those listings that were incorrectly ended - will be credited to our accounts?

2) Similar to another merchant @klhmdg.

I have lost 9 incorrectly ended GTCs on Aug 1st - those were supposed to end on Aug 02 at 10:23 am pdt.  I have sinced ended them and where the error came up yesterday showing that these 9 items taken from the  250 Fixed allotments - those items did not show up.

3) So, my 9 pre-ended GTC listings will be credited to my Fixed allotments?

Thank you very much for reading my message and your assistance and clarification is greatly appreciated tyler@ebay

Do the merchants who're impacted need to give you our selling id account, to quickly re-claim the listing credits due to the error.

If so, can you please add mine to it.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hi klhmdg,

I have the same level store that you do.  I only had this glitch happen to one listing.  I can verify that it has stopped happening to my account, but I will likely be "charged" (not technically money, but my allotment reduced by one a second time) when that one listing actually renews.  Probably.  I assume.  I'm not going to bother seeking a resolution for one listing when I know they have bigger issues to correct.   No problem at all.  I get enough promotional offers to more than cover this.

It makes sense when you think about it.  The switch from 30 days to monthly apparently needed an extra area of conversion.  The system was renewing listings at 30 days in one aspect and at 31 days in another aspect.  Sometimes you can't anticipate every problem.  Overall they do an amazing job.
