My Store Seach is failing has been for 3+ hours

Hello Everybody,

This morning I went into my store search to search for some items a customer was asking about.  The search came back with:

"Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at cgi6.ebaystores.com."

I tried the search on Firefox & Chrome.  I search in 5 different stores.  Every search came back with the error.

If you are a store owner, please test your stores search feature and if it is broken, please call eBay customer support so we can get this an A-1 Priority.

I called in at 5:10 AM my time to report the issue the 1st time.  2½ hours later I called back and talked with a different person, they couldn't find any reports of the issue.  My concern is that unless a lot of people call eBay customer support, this isn't going to get the attention it needs.

SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK . . . We need to be a very squeaky wheel!

What URL did you use?  I found it thru "store" via your id.......also did an advanced search for ImaPaqRat store and found it fine......everything opened fine........

Did you go into the "Store Seach" field in my eBay store?  I can get to my store fine, it is when you click the search button in the Store Search area that I get the error.

Both CSRs were able to recreate the error.

I just replied in your thread with a work around for the Sell Similiar needs. I also normally use my store to search for sell similiar items.

It was just pointed out to me that if you click any of my store categories, you also get the error.

I've also realized, if you have the Newer Storefront (which doesn't actually have an instore search feature) you can click on the categories without a problem.

There is a search field on the top of the page, but that search result take you to an Item List and you are no longer in the actual eBay store.

Something tells me a FORCE MIGRATION is in the near future.

Sorry, misunderstood you.........  the in store search box was "killed" in May/June of 2018 and replaced with the usual search box at the top of the page......but while in the store,it only searches the store...  Supposedly there were going to be enhancements to stores, but that was never done....because according to what we were told at Open that year, the whole stores team quit. 

Stores with their own designs were grandfathered in til later that year.....but I'm not sure they were ever changed. 

Don't know why the store categories won't work.......  That still works on my store and a couple of others I checked....but again if you did any of your own programing for them.....that could have been impacted also. 

I would try setting up another category and putting something in it, to see if that will work now..........

Just to make this issue even more murky . . . Save search URLs work . . .

If you open one of my eBay items (example: 133141714209), then scroll down the description to the "If you are a Michael Jordan Fan . . . " "Click this Link"; that link opens to a saved store search URL. BUT, if you then click the 'Store search', which is already populated with JORDAN; you will get the ERROR.

So my save search URLs work fine, but for some reason, eBay can't create new search results.

How Weird Is That?

Yes, I reported this new info to the eBay CSR; who, 7 hour after the 1st of 4 previous calls, still thought this was a New Problem.

dhbookds  . . . I believe you are right.  The last CSR even mentioned that I should consider migrating the "New Store" interface, which I don't like, because I don't think it is so BLAND compared to the older store interface.

BUT . . . I can't have mystore broken, so I decided to do the migration.  CSR walked through to the store migration tool . . . it is broken.  Oops.  Their Forced Migration Strategy seem to broken!

My store just got "updated" on it's own a few minutes ago. Search Box is gone...you have to use search at top of page. It works again!...just looks different. Also...the Not Secure thing at the top of the page is gone as well after a year or so....

So, how do you feel about the fact that with eBay's new store format, whenever anybody does a search, while in your store; the result pushes them out of your store into a simple eBay List result?

Personally . . . I think that is horrible. You lose all STORE functionality that we were paying for. No Categories, No Store Banners, NO STORE functionality at all!

How does eBay get away with stripping 90% of the store features, but still charging the same for the store?

^^^^ Mine hasn't done that yet. I used a common name "thomas" in the store search..this is what I got....

I don't see any other thomas things from ebay.  Try the store search at top of page in my store to see if everything comes up or just my items? I am thinking more might come up for the buyer and not the seller. 

This is all new as for a few minutes ago so not sure yet what the kinks are.

My point is, when somebody clicks the SEARCH button at the top of your eBay Store, they are taken to an eBay Gallery / List Search page.  They are no longer in your store.

Your Photo is gone.  Your "Dinnerware, Collectible Glass and Pottery, Misc Collectibles" store text is gone.  ALL the STORE features are Gone.  The buyer is no longer in your store.  They are seeing your items, but they aren't in your store.

eBay has done a sleight of hand with the Store Code.  Why are we paying for a Store Subscription if eBay pushes every customer out of our stores when they "search" for what they want?

I have the same issue, when you go to my store and click on the categories on the left side, it take me to the eBay Home page. I called about this yesterday and it still isn't fixed.
