Attention eBay!
Please fix this!
The new labels page prints FedEx labels vertically instead of horizontally!
Like millions of other eBay shippers I use an inkjet printer and 2-to-a-page self stick labels. USPS labels print horizontally just fine but not FedEx. (The classic labels page prints FedEx horizontal with no issues)
Didn't anyone in the IT department think about or test this?

I don't think they tested anything
I was NOT pleased to go to the print label page to discover there were only three options for printing postage for USPS none of which were the way my buyer had paid for.
Thank goodness I could go back to the old print label page so I could ship my item.
Its not bad enough the new page constantly goes back to default postage type and price but not even being able to ship USPS first class is pretty nasty.
At least you got a label!

On the new page there is a link that says "Show all options" Just click on that and all your other label options will open below it.

No response from anyone on this?
Surely I'm not the only FedEx user here!!

Looks like they "simplified" things on the new label flow.
To print horizontal layout, choose "PDF file" instead of 4x6 "PNG Image" format via the "Change format" link on the right of the page.
Use 8½x11 paper size and make sure "add receipt and instructions" is not checked.
Thanks but that's exactly what I am doing already. FedEx prints vertical no matter which options you choose.
I too just use the classic label page but very soon that will not be an option.

I was afraid of that, and realized it was probably the case after I posted.
(as I said, I haven't actually purchased ans printed a label with the new label flow - I have an automatic redirection in place to pop me over to the classic label flow, and only manually visit the new label flow to investigate forum issues like this one)
How are you handling the PDFs? Do you have your browser set to download them and the you manually handle them with Adobe, Foxit, PDF-Xchange Viewer/Editor (my choice), or are you letting the browser handle them? If not downloading, are you letting the browser handle the PDFs using the native browser internal PDF handler, or an external handler (like Adobe, Foxit....)?
I have downloaded, manually printed, and archived my labels for more years than I can remember since the PDF label format appeared on eBay, PayPal, USPS.com, FedEx.com (with no issues), so have zero experience with the way most do it using browser or external automatic handlers. I had automatic browser handling turned off for label print control and archiving, and for general PDF security reasons - PDF exploits were a big security hole some years ago, and letting the browser handle the files automatically opened the user to drive-by exploits (visit a site with a malicious PDF with a vulnerable browser/handler and you had malware. Not so much an issue these days, but I'm set in my ways)
In any case, if you are letting the browser internal PDF handler display and print the PDFs in the browser that may be your problem - the internal Browser handlers seem to cause layout/printing problems in a lot of cases based on observation of complaints in these forums.
If so, go into the browser menus, and change the handler for the PDF file type to download PDFs (then you open them manually and adjust, print, etc), to ask each time (download labels but display other informational PDFs in browser), or to use Adobe or another external handler. (In Firefox: Tools>Options>Applications and choose from PDF type dropdown)
A side note only peripherally related to your issue:
While playing with the classic and new label flows I discovered that the layout settings in one affect the other. If I choose the 8 1/2x11 format with no receipt in the new label flow, it changes that setting in the classic label flow. Found that out the hard way when a classic label flow label printed yesterday had no receipt - I always print receipts with the labels to PDF, but I had been playing with the new label flow for another forum questing and didn't realize the layout settings were common to both flows.

I am having the same problem. Before I could go back to the classic that worked fine. I called customer support, no help other than "Thank you for taking the time to tell us how you feel."
Looking at the preview, it looks like it should print correctly, but once you buy the label and try to print it is wrong.
I am using a Canon MG5522 Printer.

Be sure to use the Tell Us What You Think link to send a message. It's at the bottom instead of the top.
@Anonymous Hi, This issue has been posted more than once, not sure if anyone has pinged a blue. Needs to be fixed before the new label flow is mandatory.

Hi @tupperstuff4u , the new integration that we have with FedEx provides labels in this orientation, so all FedEx label PDFs on the new platform come that way. We are working with our third party label processor on some improvements to the way FedEx PDF labels are generated at the moment and we've requested they revert to the orientation of the old platform as part these improvements. While I don’t have a firm timeline for you on when this change may go through, it is something we are aware of and have taken steps to resolve.
In the meantime there is a workaround - it is a little cumbersome to set up but once print settings are tweaked the browser should remember them for every label:

THIS DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TRIED EVERY CONCEIVABLE ROTATION, SCALING AND METHOD OF OPENING THE LABEL INCLUDING .PNG FILE AND OPENING LABEL USING "PRINT DIALOGUE BOX". YES IT APPEARS TO BE ROTATING ON THE SCREEN, BUT WHEN YOU PRINT, IT DOES NOT ROTATE, STILL PRINTS VERTICAL.

@Anonymous
Trinton, Am having the same problem today with FedEx labels in new flow. There is a published backdoor still to the old labels but when will that be closed off? Was not able to get the PNG download to work unless you open the PNG image in photoshop and manipulate the orientation there, then print as a photo on 1/2 page. The browsers Chrome, Edge, IE don't seem to handle it correctly for me.
Berserkerplanet, The workaround suggested of downloading and manipulating the PDF can work. For me I had to use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Open the file and choose print (without changing anything yet). Then in the Adobe print dialog change to the landscape radio button. Then you actually see the problem. Observe the red lines around the print window image in my screen shot. It shows that when you rotate the image to landscape it has to "chop off" the bottom of the image. I imagine this is due do some sort of HARD CODED image size imbedded in the image that was not their in the old flow. But Reader DC does allow you to print JUST the red outlined area - the browser interface PDF prints do not. You can even bump up or down the scale to 90 or 110 if you want the label slightly smaller or larger on the page.
Hope this can work for some until a real fix arrives!

- On the label printing page select "change format”
- Select the “PNG Image” option then save
- Generate label as normal then adjust print settings to landscape layout and scale label appropriately so it looks correct. This is browser specific, so you may have to experiment a little to get it right for you."

Hi @luvmy280zz, this workaround is successful for us when testing it out. If you are unable to adjust the label to meet your needs then I recommend you contact Customer Service for additional assistance. This is the only option for you currently as we work on future enhancements.
