shipping page question

Have not sold in a couple of years and the shipping page is changed. Sending a clothing item. The USPS first class option says 2.78. Went to the top of page and put in 8oz. and it changed charge to 3.25. Do I just put in the weight like always? I'm confused  by the automatic amount showing at 2.78. Sorry for the dumb question.

shipping page question

Postage costs for First Class packages are based on weight and distance, just as costs for Priority Mail are. The prices that you specified are for different weight ranges.

shipping page question

Thank you. I guess I was confused as to why it was auto set to 2.78 before I put in my weight. Before it was blank until you did that. I'll just have to get used to the new shipping page.

Yes, you always need to enter the correct weight when you print your label.   When I list 1st class as a flat rate,    I don't enter any weight when I list.  So when I go to print my label, it will usually auto-populate 1oz onto the label printing screen, but I know I need to enter my correct weight before printing.
