package lost

I made a purchase of a Garmin watch from buydig on Apr 3rd, and it was supposed to be delivered on Apr 6th. The item was delayed for eight days but was finally shown as delivered on the 14th. I searched the neighbors and any places I could think about, but nothing was there.

Been contacting eBay and the seller, and the only response I got is "the package was shown as delivered," and my refund request was denied. I appealed and got denied within minutes. I left a negative review with the seller describing what happened and the review was deleted after 5 mins.

My few experiences with lost packages from Amazon or Walmart were quite smooth and I did not expect eBay will let the consumer bear the risk. Now after 20 days of the purchase, I am wasting my time appealing to Payal and my credit card company.

Re: package lost

Yep, you need to ask your post office the GPS coordinates of where they delivered to.

And yes when you lose a case any feedback you leave is removed

This is a posting/buying ID

My seller ID has over 50,000 feedbacks

@qus5073,

"Been contacting eBay and the seller, and the only response I got is "the package was shown as delivered," and my refund request was denied. I appealed and got denied within minutes. I left a negative review with the seller describing what happened and the review was deleted after 5 mins"

The first thing you have to know is, if there is a delivered scan eBay and the other 3rd party online shopping sites, can only access the tracking scans, not the shipping label information, due to shipping company's privacy policies.  If there is a Delivered scan they find in favor of the seller.  That means that you as the buyer have to get the info from a shipping company, proving that the item was delivered somewhere else.  You did not and that is why you lost the original dispute and the appeal.

"Now after 20 days of the purchase, I am wasting my time appealing to Payal and my credit card company".

When you filed with PayPal you lost your money back guarantee protections.  PayPal and your card provider may also find in favor of the seller unless you can provide them with info proving the item was not delivered to your address.  There was also a third option you could have used to get help from ebay, but it too is no longer available because you have filed a claim with PayPal.

What you will have to do is, to go to your P.O. or  a local UPS or FedEx store.  If the item was sent by FedEx. you can check their tracking site to get the package type/size/weight info to see if the package for what was shipped was appropriate for what you should have received.

When you go to a P.O. or store, you need to bring a copy of your order details page which shows your address and the tracking number with you. If you bought using a phone or tablet, you can bring that to show the clerk the order details.
  You ask the clerk to compare the shipping address to the one on the order details page, to see if they match. If the addresses and package type/size/weight do not match.  You ask the clerk to write a note on company stationary, saying in general that the address and/or package info does not match. (they are not allowed to give specifics of addresses)  Have them sign and date the note.

You can take a Clear photo or scan the note, and add it to a PayPal claim or appeal. You would have to contact your card provider by calling the number on the back of the card, tell the rep you have written proof the item was not sent to you or that the package info shows the package wasn't right for what you should have received, and ask the rep how you can provide the info to a charge back claim.

"My few experiences with lost packages from Amazon or Walmart were quite smooth and I did not expect eBay will let the consumer bear the risk".

You are comparing apples and oranges. Amazon and Walmart ship products from their own warehouses.  That means they can access order and the shipping label info as the sender, to see if a mistake was made.  eBay, Etsy and other sites whose indvidual seller's ship items, cannot access that info, since that are not a partner to the shipping contract.

@qus5073,

I forgot to add to my previous reply and ran out of time to edit and add.

  Did you check the feedback profile page of your seller?  If you did not do that now.  On that page click on the number's of neutral and negative feedback they have received to read only those comments.  Their feedback percentage is an OK one for a high volume seller, but not a great one,  As you have found out they may have had some negatives removed, and most of the neutral feedback should be considered as negatives.  Never go by a seller's feedback percentage alone.

Re: package lost

Sounds like your issue is with USPS and not eBay or the seller. It was your mail carrier who scanned it as delivered. Hold them accountable and check with them asking for the GPS location of the scan like someone else suggested.

Also make sure your shipping address on eBay was correct on file.

Sounds like you need a more secure location for your deliveries.

Re: package lost

Go to the post office with the tracking #.  The postal system will show more details. For example, it will know which carrier scanned it. It will also know the location.  Maybe your carrier left it at 10 Elm St. instead of 10 Elm Pl.    If that is the case,  perhaps the carrier can see if the folks at the wrong location are willing to return it .  In this case, ebay  nor the seller are responsible.

Sometimes,  the buyers will lose.    A chargeback will be denied once the credit card company finds out it's delivered.  Sorry.

Re: package lost

When you appealed did you have written proof from USPS that the tracking number was not to your address? That is how you win an appeal. Otherwise eBay sides with what the tracking number shows. If it shows delivered you lose. Maybe it was stolen after delivery. Looting mailboxes and stealing packages off porches is a fact of life.
