I sold a few football cards over the weekend and used eBays new standard envelope service. I took the cards to the post office on Monday and the post office rejected my envelopes because they said they were not eligible to be tracked. This whole situation is very confusing and I have no idea what to do. Has this happened to anybody else?

@jimmyoriole. The scans are done by sorting equipment and not postal carriers like normal scans. This means it was scanned as delivered in the closest sorting center to you then it is still a few more days or so until you receive the cards.

Thank you!
I have been waiting since 4/19 on one of them though.

I walked into the post office building and dropped 5 envelopes in the slot. They were returned to me "Postage Due $ .20 the next business day. I went to the window of the post office and was told "these are NON Machinable and will incur an additional $ .20 on each piece". I have mailed over 500 of these since this program without a single one being returned for postage due. The moral of the story is drop them in a remote box and NOT inside the post office. Yes, they are slow to be delivered, but it better for everyone involved to pay $ .51 and not $3+ for First Class with Tracking.
I am not happy with the situation with the Postal Service employees not know about the program.

Good luck with getting a refund. Read the rules and tell me how to jump through those hoops?

Not true,if tracking does not show delivered then seller refunds.I sent a card in bubble mailer with tracking.Tracking went to buyers PO then sent back to my PO and no one knows where it is.I had to refund buyer

mrdon1402 the problem isn’t the postal employees, it’s EBay and their nonsense. I would rather pay the $3 and get actual tracking.

Kind of hard for EBay to lose money when tracking doesn’t show delivered and it possibly could have been. EBay isn’t just handing out refunds to a seller simply because you had to refund a buyer.

EBay provides protection if you can actually get them to pay. It’s one thing to show me black and white words. Entirely another for those who weren’t protected and lost money because of it.

Every single card Zi have received from a seller using this method shows out for delivery in a city 45 miles east of me long before they are ever delivered.

Top loaders are fine if you put between two index cards. Received several cards through this method and all were in top loaders.

What you just told them is not so. I’ve had a couple show delivered that never showed up well after a few more days. Sounds to me like you’re a seller trying to get buyers to wait and file legitimate claims.

Has anyone read this?

@car_226227 I am not trying to stop anyone from filing a refund request. I am just trying to inform buyers and sellers of the shortcomings of this system. I don't even sell sports cards but read the boards and a lot and in particular found this community chat with eBay staff informative. https://community.ebay.com/t5/Weekly-Discussion-with-eBay/Community-Chat-April-28-1-00-pm-PT-eBay-st...
Personally, I would just use postage stamps for items under $20, and then I could use poly envelopes and reinforce but pay the extra for a nonmachinable fee. This would better protect the cards and has just as much likelihood of being delivered to the buyer.
Once tracking shows a delivery scan then eBay will not force the seller to issue a refund.

The post office should have taken the mail. Unfortunately the tracking number is all on ebays end. The USPS has nothing to do with this tracking number. My USPS center told me this. And a few more i use when on the road. The same response. Furthermore the tracking system doesnt always work. I have had issues selling and buying saying i recieved items i did not get as tracking said delivered and buyers with the same issue. Havent had anything lost on either end just the tracking status isnt always correct. Ebay does the final tracking update on an estimation.

I was unable to print a label for eBay Standard Envelope this morning. Talked to support and was told USPS canceled that service!
