eBay standard envelope not working

I sold a few football cards over the weekend and used eBays new standard envelope service. I took the cards to the post office on Monday and the post office rejected my envelopes because they said they were not eligible to be tracked. This whole situation is very confusing and I have no idea what to do. Has this happened to anybody else?

Hi I just read your response as I am having similar issues. If I have to refund how do I go about opening a claim with ebay for the refund? Do you know?

Has anyone had an issue with using rigid envelopes that are almost square (6” x 6.25”)?

I tried mailing three today for the first time and one of the clerks stopped me and said I’d have to pay more postage because they were square.

@nygiants20   Math is not my strong suit but this is what the help page says:

• Envelope should have an aspect ratio (length divided by height) between 1.3 and 2.5

• Envelope is not allowed to be completely rigid or non-uniform in thickness

My math says your aspect ratio is only 1.04

I saw the same thing. But, I read "should have" as not being the same as "must have." Also, there are other items that give maximum and minimum envelope dimensions and mine comply with those requirements.

My post office sells 6"x8" rigid mailers so I asked the clerk about those. He said those would cost even more because they're bigger! But, 6x8 complies with the Ebay Standard Envelope requirements for the same postage.

I think part of my issue was. dealing with a postal clerk who wasn't familiar with these.

Both of the pages that have information about the envelope size state the same dimensions. 

I keep seeing you use the word rigid too when describing your envelope type,  rigid is NOT allowed.  A fellow mentor tested this with a knowledgeable postal clerk and basically, it needs to bend easily around a standard coffee mug to be able to go through the sorting machines correctly.

I saw those envelopes when I first looked into using this service. They look very similar to the 6x8 mailers that the post office sells. And the ones from the post office are very similar to what i bought, except mine are white and nearly square.

How do you open a claim with Ebay if a buyer claims an order went missing? I never had to do this when I was just using First Class shipping. Now I have several.

I believed this to be true, and just called today for a card that has no scan since Jan 31.  When the customer filed a case I refunded him, but ebay told me I had to wait at least 30 days to file for my refund. Now they act like they don't know what I'm talking about! Worse, I can't find anything in the "help" section where it used to explain the refund!  Any help out there?

eBay spread the information out over two pages and they are not linked.  I asked for them to be linked but the most I got them to do is add the links to the announcement

 Have used Ebay Standard Envelope since end of February for about 30-40 transactions. 

Have printed out my Ebay Standard Envelope labels at home through eBay. 

Then, brought all to a Post Office, and handed then to the counter employee. 

Was told at each Post Office that these Ebay Standard Envelope labels don't need to be scanned while I'm there and a receipt printed. AVOID this statement and have them scan and print you a receipt!! 

Here's why:

I went through my sold transactions. 5 of them show the following:

* 2 had labels created by me on 3/7/21. Given to the post office counter person on Monday 3/8/21. In Tracking History: NOTHING/NO INFO AT ALL. 

* 1 had label printed by me on 3/4/21. Given to post office counter person on Friday 3/5/21. Tracking info shows for this item until "Out for Delivery, Scranton, Pa". on 3/6/21. No "Delivered" in tracking history up to today 3/22/21. 

* 1 had label printed by me on 2/22/21. Given to the postal office counter person on Tuesday 2/23/21. Tracking info shows for this item "Out for Delivery, Pittsburgh, Pa" on Thursday 2/25/21. No "Delivered" in tracking history up to today 3/22/21. 

* 1 had label printed by me on Tuesday 2/23/21. Given to postal office counter person on same day. Shows in tracking history: "Destination Processing, Kearny, NJ" on Wednesday 2/24/21. But no other tracking history or "Delivered" statement in tracking history as if today 3/22/21. 

Have these buyers received these items? Not sure, based on the info above.

Have these buyers contacted me to ask for any further info on the shipment of the items? No. 

I'm concerned about the post office's ability to fulfill the Ebay Standard Envelope program in a way to give buyers and sellers peace of mind that they can look in their tracking history and see the item in transit and most importantly delivered. For items less than $20.00 in value, I don't want to jeopardize my feedback (currently at 100%) and good standing for future buyers.
