eBay and USPS Agreement on Standard Shipping of Sportscard

Are their any eBay seller that are having the same issue with eBay’s Standard Envelope shipping trading cards with USPS?

Starting in January 2021, eBay introduced the eBay standard envelope cost effective shipping of single ungraded trading cards weighing less than 3 oz. and meeting certain dimension of the envelope.  As with all packages I sent to buyers I get is scanned so I have a receipt of the drop off.

Somebody failed to tell USPS rank and file about this agreement or at least this certain post office!!!  Talk about being condescending, rude and accusatory towards their customers.  This particular post office accused  me of trying to rip off the post office, tried to confiscate my merchandize and explain to me what a letter and package look like.  Fortunately for me I was able grab it.

I contact eBay in case eBay sellers are having similar issues with USPS and I am waiting for the USPS Richmond Regional Office to contact me and inform them of this agreement so they can tell their managers in the field.   Hopefully I get someone who is knowledgeable of this agreement.

Yes, others have reported problems with local post office employees. Problem is that the tracking scan provided by eBay is suppose to be set up to register on their automated sorting equipment, and not hand scanning by personnel . As far as I can tell by reading eBay's help pages on these envelopes, there is no requirement that you show PO acceptance scans.  But I could be wrong about that. With eBay you never know.

I ship more than one card, but less than 3oz and under 1/4 inch in thickness... my PO says the envelope requires I pay an extra charge for "non-machinable letter"

The tracking number on these envelopes are not able to be tracked by the USPS, If you have one of these numbers put it into the tracking page of the USPS website and you can verify this. Had a package shipped to me this way and it said delivered to the zip code where I live in but I got no mail that day because of a snow storm, and as I said the post office is unable to help because the tracking number is not recognized by the post office. Was told to file item not received by ebay rep, told the rep I was not going to do that since it says delivered, rep said I would win the case, luckily the package wass delivered about three days later but with no scan of the number. I tried telling ebay this sounds like a great idea but with this problem of post office not being able to help it will cause problems with sellers, buyers and ebay themselves.

Yes, My PO does the same.  I have to pay an extra .24 non-machinable for every envelope.  Why is this not an option when we print the label? Or actually it should have been part of the original agreement between Ebay and USPS.  Also, I have multiple customers telling me that they didn't receive their item and the stupid tracking doesn't even show up!!! So, now I have no proof I even shipped said item!!!!

Yes, many times.  It shows in transit and after contacting buyer they had received it.  Also shows sitting in originating Post Office 10 days after I personally gave it to a postal clerk.  As a seller I can not have this type of inadequacy.  I tried to contact eBay and could only get a chat.  Pretty certain that wont fix the problem.  This is totally unacceptable for the fees they charge sellers.  Looks as if I will need to go back to first class postage and pitch the eBay envelopes.

Re: eBay and USPS Agreement on Standard Shipping of Sportscard

I have lost several hundred dollars on ebay relative to the ebay standard envelope.  Between the end of August of 2022 and the end of September of 2022, my post office returned all the ebay standard envelopes addressed to me and asked for more postage due to a "Not Machinable" charge.  The ESUS tracking number info indicated that these envelopes were delivered to me.  Because of this information, Ebay decided against me on every case that I filed for non-receipt of my items.  I tried to convince Ebay that there is nothing on the ebay standard envelope that the USPS carrier can scan to verify that the ebay standard envelope had been delivered to the patron by the USPS.  The only thing the ESUS tracking can verify is that it reached the post office.  I guess because it got to the post office Ebay and the ESUS tracking assumes it was delivered.  All the tracking info for these ESUS numbers indicated that the envelopes were delivered to a zip code and that is it.  The zip code is not my address.

Re: eBay and USPS Agreement on Standard Shipping of Sportscard

It’s still happening in Wooster, Ohio’s Post Office. They return my eBay mail without my permission. I went in to ask for any postage due mail, they asked my delivery girl, she said she returned them!!! I explained to the clerk, now I’m out my MONEY PAID & MY PRODUCT! And EBAY SHOWS the WORD “DELIVERED” even though it was only delivered to THAT POST OFFICE, BUT STOPPED THERE!!! So, SELLER will NOT refund me!!! USPS Reasons for RETURNING My Mail: They claimed some must have been: 1. a hard envelope, not flexible, so it’s non-machinable requiring 40 cents or more in postage!  & sometimes the seller writes non-machinable!; and some must have weighed more than 3 oz. ; and some must have used the wrong size envelope.

That's because idiots who work at the processing plants have no idea what's going on. Occasionally, I get an envelope back "postage due". Yeah, right! I follow eBay's & postal guidelines. NO reason why it should be returned to me. What I do is reprint the same label and put it on a new envelope and mail the card again. Always goes thru the 2nd time.
