eBay Not Acknowledging A USPS Tracking Number I Entered Manually -- How Do I Correct This ??

If I use the USPS site to Track, the full details are available, including the fact the item was delivered.  Buy has already posted Feedback for the transaction.  However, eBay only shows that the Shipping Label was created.

What to do ??

There have been some other reports of this happening for sales that were shipped during the AWS outage recently, and it can happen intermittently at other times too. You can try signing up for text or email updates on the status on the USPS website, and sometimes that seems to trigger whatever system sends the updates to eBay as well.

Each time that you enter the tracking number manually, also click on "Mark as shipped" -- you'll find that by clicking on the circle with three dots inside, next to "Get shipping label" on the "Manage orders awaiting shipment" page, next to the picture of the item which you have sold.

That's 100% unnecessary. The act of adding a tracking number is all that needs to be done to indicate an item was shipped.

Was this item shipped on Oct 20 @bob-track ? There is a known issue with labels generated Oct 20 and eBay is aware of and working on it. Follow updates here:

I, and others, tried this, but it did not trigger any updates to ebay.

If tracking started coming though to ebay it was just a coincidence and had nothing to do with signing up for USPS informed delivery.

I purchased my USPS label on the infamous Oct 20th Amazon Web Services crash which is the cause of all this.  The tracking number is automatically uploaded to ebay order details and automatically shows "Shipped".  But the AWS outage has disrupted USPS location scans from getting over to ebay.

I chatted with ebay support for a solution on 10/22.  I was told to mark my item as "NOT SHIPPED" and then manually enter the tracking number which will trigger the order details to show shipped and 'should' trigger updates from USPS to Ebay.  DO NOT DO THIS, IT ONLY MAKES THE SITUATION WORSE!!  Even though I wasn't getting tracking updates at least it showed they I provided a tracking number on 10/20.  After following the ebay support reps instructions I am still not getting updates and to make it worse it now shows that I didn't provide a tracking number for 2 additional days; 10/22.

If you manually enter a tracking number the system marks it as shipped in order details.  When you go in again and click the 'shipped' button it confuses the system and removes the manually entered tracking number from order details.

Correct, because signing up for text/email updates is USPS sending updates to you directly. It has zero connection to the USPS-PitneyBowes-eBay API and data processing.

I know some responders here have been suggesting this, but as you said, any events where it "worked" were pure coincidence. 😉

Hi !  Thanks for your info.  Yes, in fact, the Label in question was issued on 20 Oct, so I guess it is a known issue between the USPS and eBay.......I appreciate you taking the time to address my issue !
