Hey everybody,

So I seem to be having a nightmare time dealing with FedEx. They have lost my last 5 packages. They delivered it to another address (even though my address was on the boxes). They marked them as delivered, so I couldn't even get my money back. I put Delivery Instructions online. I called them multiple times, described my house, its color, the cars parked in the garage but nothing helped.

Since then, I started to Hold my packages at a Walgreens location 10 minutes from me. That stopped the problem. I never had to do this for eBay packages though. So today, I realized two of my eBay packages are coming via FedEx. I went to their website, and they do not allow "Hold at Location" due to Shipper's Restrictions. I contacted the seller, they had no restriction on the package.

I contacted FedEx, explained the missing packages issue, and they said they can't help me as they are prohibited from changing delivery. They also told me they can't put an additional tracker on the package to make sure it doesn't get misdelivered. I asked FedEx what I could do to make sure these packages don't get misdelivered again in addition to leaving Delivery Instructions through FedEx.com, and they said nothing.

My question is what are my options right now? I am pretty sure FedEx is going to misdeliver these too considering they did the last 5. Any ideas? Has anyone had this issue with FedEx?

Unfortunately you can't do much. Ebay's agreement with Fedex does not let them change the delivery address or even hold for pickup. I had a customer that wasn't home on the delivery day and both myself and the customer tried calling Fedex and they refused to do anything for us. The buyer actually drove to the fedex depot in their town and Fedex would not release the package to them even with their ID that has a matching name and address. They just told the customer that it was going to be sent back and there was nothing they could do because Ebay does not allow them to deliver anywhere other than the address on the label. The customer did eventually get the item after throwing a fit and threatening to call the police.

One problem is that the seller is not the shipper on record, Ebay is, for all fedex labels printed through Ebay. So the seller has no more pull with Fedex than the buyer does.

In short, they won't do anything for you. In the future you should consider contacting sellers before ordering and ask them how they will ship the items and see if they will ship by UPS or USPS instead. I've moved to shipping all larger orders by UPS after that incident.

I've had nothing, but problems with FedEx ground that now I refuse to buy from sellers that use them. I took two days off of work this week only to end up with door tags despite being home. I think the company is shady at best, two years ago they enticed me to just sign the door tag and they'll leave the package which I did. I get home twenty minutes after the item was delivered only to find it gone.

I call FedEx and they tell me tough luck you signed the door tag and here i'm out $200 in car parts. The weird part is FedEx calls me three days later and said they found my package. I get the package and it's been re-taped. To this day I think the driver stole it and opened it up only to find a few pieces of molding, clips and emblems and was disappointed.

That's the problem. The seller had USPS as their shipping method. Then shipped it with FedEx anyway. Now the driver is going to misdeliver it, it will be marked as "delivered." And I can't even open a case or ask my credit card company or PayPal to refund me. The package will be lost like the last 5 that FedEx lost, I lose my money, and the collectible item I ordered gets lost too. Very frustrating.

The company is very shady. Post-COVID, they have been horrible. The driver just leaves the package across the city and claims they delivered it. I have called them multiple times, provided them with the description of my house, left delivery instructions, doesn't matter. FedEx does nothing. And now they do not even let me accept it at Walgreens. I begged FedEx to give me the last GPS location of the packages that were lost, they said they can't.

You have had more luck with FedEx than me. I opened cases with them for all these lost packages, they closed them 3 days later, said it was lost. Then when the sellers opened a case to get money for the lost package to give me, they rejected their case saying "the package is delivered according to our records." This is seriously messed up. Surely eBay knows this is going on? On Reddit, BBB, all these sites, FedEx has a horrible reputation.

And my biggest problem is sellers that say they are shipping with USPS, then ship it with FedEx. That is clearly a deal-breaker for me but good luck winning a case based on that alone. When a package is marked as delivered, you have no case on eBay.

You need to contact an attorney and bring a lawsuit against your local Fedex center in small claims court. Otherwise they'll continue this and if they're doing it to you, they're doing it to others who live near you. If possible find others in your area having issues with them and file it jointly.

I agree with you. I also have had issues with FedEx. If I want to purchase a item and FedEx is the carrier I will buy from another seller even if is higher.
