Will NOT SHIP TO CALIFORNIA???

Why are some sellers not shipping to California? I understand the will only ship to the continental US but I see a lot of items I'm trying to buy or bid on say; " NOTICE: I will NOT ship to California, if you win the auction and an pay online and I find your address is California I will promptly cancel and refund your money. I will not ship to California! If you have a California resale/sellers license than disregard this notice." No wonder Amazon is killing it. So does anyone know what's going on with this no shipping to commiefornia stuff?

What were you trying to buy?  California has many regulations about specific products being sold in our state.  Frankly the list seems exhausting as the purpose of California’s Safer Consumer Product Regulations seek to reduce toxic chemicals in consumer products.  I had my ex-husband buy some pesticides in another state as they had chemicals that actually worked.   We also have theses regulations for incandescent light bulbs and I hate LED bulbs in the bathroom.  Again another thing I ask him to get me when he's out of state.

Taxation is no longer an excuse since eBay now collects the state taxes due.

I've seen it twice now on inflatable above ground pools. These two sellers are also the cheapest price I've seen so I'm especially curious.

I have an "Item not received" case currently being closed in my favor by Ebay.  The USPS tracking explicity shows delivery to the buyers mailbox, in California.  Either somebody stole it from the box after delivery or the buyer is trying to scam me.  Recent anarchist, terrorist, and subversive behavior in California has escalated to a point where and level of malicious conduct is an everyday occurrence.  If most of my Ebay opened cases are from CA then something is definitely WRONG in California.  We should be able to exclude any location we do not wish to sell to.

PS:  I am in Florida.  I have to acknowledge that buyers in my own state are often scary.  I have had several incidents with FL buyers.  Florida is a sunny state full of shady people.
