I have been selling on ebay for 20 years but just started selling lettuce seeds. I found out the hard way that you are not allowed to choose the ebay standard envelope where it will only cost the price of a stamp. Only sales of postcards, coins and stamps get to use that option. I have called ebay 2 times and was given wrong advice. I called a 3rd time today and after 30 minutes of being transferred I was told that they could not find the correct answer. Am I missing something? How can there not be an answer? They did say that I could address an envelope myself and use a stamp. But then there would be no tracking so I asked if that could hurt my seller rating (which is very good right now) and they said yes it can. So now all I can do is ask for help from other seed sellers. Anyone able to tell me how to get a shipping label for the price of a stamp with tracking like the card, coin and stamp sellers do? Thanks in advance for any info on this subject!

Do all the countries you ship seeds to allow them?
I know other countries can't ship seeds to the US due to US import laws and I imagine other countries could have similar import laws.

This service is only limited to inexpensive coins and cards. What you want to do can not be done. You will need to ship without tracking or pay for first class mail w/ tracking. Keep in mind that you can't ship certain seeds to certain states too.

It's a shame that items that qualify by weight and size, are not allowed the same benefit of the standard envelope.
But, there it is.

Create a second selling account. Want to maintain your good seller status, but want to sell w/ risky shipping. Use a 2nd account for ur risky shipping where you can afford a hit or more because of bad shipping. Whats the worst that can happen? You protect your main account. I know coin/card guys who do that.
I sell coins but I refuse to use the shipping method you're talking about (inexpensive regular envelope with tracking). That thing is a joke, barely a step above a stamp. Read elsewhere about it's issues. I exclusively ship first class or better. Im not risking my reputation, I just don't sell anything thats not worth 1st class

What a great idea. Shows how wonderful this platform is. Wow

"Am I missing something? "
Seeds can be crushed by the flat letter machinery and cause hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. Cards, stamps and coins do not pose that same hazard.

That would be for the buyer to know in advance of purchase, right?
