I am probably going to raise a few attacks for this thread. But it is a commonly increasing crime for sellers to use USPS provided "Free" PRIORITY SERVICE packaging for any other use than Priority mail, I received 4 items recently from sellers who used a Priority box and some even used padded priority mailers as bubble wrap and then concealed its identity as "PRIORITY Mail Only" with a Poly bag ! Do you know That is a crime that is costing ALL of us in a trickle down effect raising the postal rates higher and higher, I will Report any more illegal use of materials to my local postal manager. It is very easy to source free legal packing materials, I get mine from several contractors in the area and do my part to reuse and recycle ,

Boxes that are no longer made such as regional can be used for regular Priority Mail or Priority Cubic.
These boxes are still USPS property even though they are in your possession.
You have only be granted permission to use them in accordance with postal regulations.
Any other use is prohibited and subject to fines, criminal charges and being banned for ordering any further supplies.

Exactly why USPS needs to charge a fee to cover the cost of the supplies so if they are misused they are not out the cost of the supplies.
This could even generate some profit as USPS would still provide free shipping.
Contact DOGE and the Trump administration.
The alternative is that people will continue to abuse supplies and commit revenue fraud which in turns drives up USPS fees.
Report the abusers to U.S. Postal Inspectors.

I agree that it is wrong to misuse Priority packaging but since I use recycled packaging materials in my eBay store 95% of the time, I found an ethical exception. When I receive items in Priority packaging, I write on them "recycled", especially on the padded mailers which work great inside plain brown boxes for extra padding. In this way, my customer knows that I am recycling used Priority packaging and not breaking any USPS rules.

Some of my biggest sellers do this and it doesn't bother me.
Like everyone in the world 🌎 doesn't break any laws...
Double parking when it's against the law.
Jay-walking in Los Angeles...got a ticket for that.
Not picking up poo from your dog....It's endless...

The Post Office should stop supplying any free supplies, beyond stickers for Priority Mail or Special Handling of sorts.
Make people pay for boxes and put stickers on them. That would stop the misuse and waste of Priority Supplies.
Currently, I buy boxes or use the eBay branded brown boxes. I leave them plain for Ground Advantage and put Priority or Fragile stickers on them as needed.
I don't have to store a bunch of priority supplies, just mostly brown boxes and a couple rolls of Priority Stickers.

I reuse my flat rate boxes that someone sent me a package in all the time and put in a standard ground advantage envelop, its called recycling, these comments are ridiculous., to think someone is making an issue out of it is silly. The post office is not going out of business because of this, or even using unused flat rate boxes, and in fact, if anything ebay shippers are helping the post office stay in business. People always have to find something to complain about, jeez

If someone does this to me I send them a nice message and see how they reply
