Hi Fellow eBayers,

Have a slight concern with USPS tracking not updating (I understand there maybe some COVID related delays).

I shipped out 3 packages on Saturday 5/16, in the way I normally do - I leave it for my pickup at my front desk. USPS picked it up on Saturday. It’s now Tuesday 5/19 - none of the packages have updated past “Shipping Label Created”. 2 of the packages were being delivered in the same state.

What raised the red flag for me, was that I shipped out a small box yesterday 5/18 that was picked up and updated “Accepted at Origin Facility the same day”

I have no idea where the 3 packages are, the only clues I have are the shipping label created dates on Saturday and the fact that one of the packages that’s being delivered close by, for some reason has a 5/26 estimated delivery, a week from now.

Is there anyway for me to get info on where they are/why they haven’t updated?

Appreciate any/all help in advance!

this happens to me,thursday night is always big on sales for me and I ship plenty on Friday.My stuff is at the PO by Friday afternoon,does not get picked up until evening I have had stuff go unscanned,sometimes I will get a scan for tuesday morning and its still at the PO.

the PO is trying to save time by not scanning.My sincere advice is to stop looking at tracking,you packages will arrive whether you check or not

The packages will likely be delivered without incident. But, if you are anxious, a package can have other scans that are "internal", and can be seen by USPS employees. You can take one of your tracking numbers to a counter and ask if they can see if there is any tracking.

So far only the buyer raised a concern, because hes somewhat close. Nonetheless, the estimated delivery date was next Tuesday, just odd it happened to all three.

I actually tried that with a package I ordered for myself. No luck. Their tracking didn't have the usual scans either. It seems to be a mess out there and all we can do is wait. I was told by one postal manager that packages are just being thrown on semis and will be dealt with whenever. Just today I had a distressed buyer and there was precious little I could do to help her aside from urging patience.

Covid delays are really bad right now. Here is an example. I bought a dvd on the 10th, they shipped it on the 11th. After they shipped it i noticed they live about 45 mins away from me. All packages in my area go to Detroit to be processed and then sent out from there. On the 18th it finally left Detroit and it's now the 19th and i still don't have it. Should it take more than 8 days for a package to get to me from someone 45 mins away? I been ordering other dvd's and things and everything is taking forever. What used to take 3-5 days is taking weeks.

I'm having the same issue - my postal worker did not pickup Saturday so I had to drop about 75 packages Monday morning from weekend sales. I've had my second buyer contact me today asking about tracking info that hasn't updated with a scan in the eBay or USPS system. Would love to hear additional feedback on this topic. Thanks!

I may write to the Washington Post to ask if they would do an investigative story about it. They have run various articles and OP ed pieces about the USPS maybe closing down in the Fall, but I do not remember seeing anything about current delays in delivery. It doesn't just affect us as sellers and shippers, it's hurting our transaction partners. I sure hope important things like medications ship Priority mail or one of the other services if they are doing any better. Amazon is now shipping stuff again but they use their own trucks around here.

I have the same issue, mostly with First Class and Media Rate items. I believe the USPS is using other transporters to move items around, therefore not getting scanned at sort centers because they do eventually scan when delivered but nothing in between.

Thankfully, all of the items updated today! but it looks like 2 of the estimated dates will be missed.

The backup seems quite serious, if the package is waiting to be scanned for 3 days at the P/O

I asked one of the people at my PO and they told me that USPS is busier now than at X-mas time. I have had packages go from here in Colorado to Nebraska and Washington before they were ever scanned. Luckily for me most customers know the difference between shipping time and delivery time. I also let customers know that delivery time may be longer than usual. I figure it does no good to get upset over this, nothing I can do about it. Is there more to it than we know? I personally don't want to put that much effort into figuring it out. You do know that the USPS is a government run operation, right? What more needs to said?

You should be ok.

Even before the pandemic, USPS has been messing up (mostly because of human factor), but nowadays you can give a package extra time to get to a buyer without scans. I`ve seen 10+ days without any scan for packages sent to the same East Coast. It is faster from coast to coast that to the close proximity (except to the same state)

But the scans / tracking were showing up? I shipped out a package and the only scan was when it arrived and left the Post Office Tuesday after Memorial Day and the tracking said delayed but it was never scanned at the main USPS hub for our area. Almost a week later still no scans and the delayed went away and all it reports is it is in transit to it's next location or something like that.....And I am just sick!
