The USPS

It seems that the past few weeks USPS has gotten their **** together. My packages are starting to get delivered on time and tracking numbers are getting updated as well! Anybody else seeing this? We should get a extra stimulus check for what we went through. Luckily I was able to talk my buyers off the ledge and only got one mediocre review and had a seller change a negative into a positive. That was a 6 month long headache!

Imagine what USPS, UPS and FedEx employees have had to deal with.  Isn't today national Thank A Mail / Letter Carrier Day?

NO!  USPS is NOT back to normal.  I am filing INR cases right and left.  No communication from sellers, no one lifting a finger, mostly just "Ship it & Forget It" kind of sellers.

So how do you get off talking buyers off the ledge?  Don't you know you aren't suppose to poke the bear?  I mean how can that possibly work?  🤔 😳 😋 🤣 😎 ✌️

Wow......yer a few colors short of a full crayon box, aren't you ?!

So your sellers ship your items in a timely manner and they get jammed up in the USPS delivery system......what did your seller do wrong, and what can they do about it ? USPS delivery is the problem, right ?

The mail is moving now, you are several months late in the game to be filing INR's, seriously.

And if you aren't aware, you are now on every savvy seller's blocked list....including mine.

Yep my packages are all back to normal. I'm on West Coast and ship to East Coast with no delays. A few have actually arrived early, almost back to how it used to be....

Just a heads up. This is what I have been dealing with daily for almost a year now. And for the first time we were all working, no one out with covid or quarantined due to exposure. Now one carrier out because she just lost her mother to covid.

Not agreeing with you 100%.  Some packages are moving quickly but not all.  I have a priority package I shipped on January 30 that is still not delivered as of February 4...in my own state!

Much better. Packages ALMOST on time. I just had 3 to MD all stuck. It can still hit or miss.

I know that it won't take 20-40 days for delivery. It's not 2-3 days either.

I must ask you.  Are some carriers not scanning packages because of this.

I have 2 packages never scanned into the system that were mailed.

Sorry to see you didn't have your humor cap on the other day.  Always someone quick to condemn, who doesn't recognize sarcasm as noted by the use of many emojis.  Sigh.

What sellers CAN DO and what most refuse to do is watch tracking and when items get stuck intercede with the USPS with the Missing Mail process.  After all you do want to help your buyers out don't you or are you a "ship it & forget it" type of seller?  So that is what those sellers did wrong.

Look these threads were overflowing with sellers complaining about INR cases during holiday shipping.  Most just wanted to complain and not really do anything.  But a few brave posters laid out the solution, communicating with buyers.  Doing that sets buyer expectations and an impression of the seller.  Shoot look at this recent post where a seller shares their experience and suggests keeping buyer informed!

Oh and a bit of advice, it makes little sense to be antagonistic when you are a seller on these threads.  Too many wackos out there that might decide to buy from you then file SNAD cases or other shenanigans in order to mess with you and your business.  That is why many use posting IDs.

@lja440

Thanks for sharing those pics!  I think it helps give an idea of what is really going on out there!

You folk at the USPS are doing a great job with the high volumes!  Hang in there and keep up the great work!

Getting an acceptance scan is the seller's responsibility - your on time metrics depend on it.  Unfortunately anecdotal reports indicate that as some POs they are not scanning each package picked up from collection boxes or sometime scan sheets.  So, sellers are either "working with" their local PostMaster to get things changed or are standing in line and getting packages scanned at the counter and leaving with a receipt.

If an acceptance scan is missed, usually a scan at a sorting center shows up on tracking, but if that is the FIRST scan then the date/time of that scan will be used by eBay as acceptance when measuring on time shipping.

If you are having trouble with no scans on delivery then this is something to take up with your carrier or PostMaster.

Yes, the volumes USPS are dealing with are higher than previous "peak season" volumes.  As such one can understand if a mistake is made here or there.

It's a part of their job description to scan items.  They own the scanner.

OK, it is their job to do the scans. They didn't do the scan.  Now what?

Problem here is that those who "didn't do their job" don't work for you, you don't sign their paycheck.  So what can you do within the system to get these employees to "do their job" and make the scans you need?

This is of course the tricky part - getting people to want to help you, even if that means "doing their job!"  😁😎

You assume a lot.

To say most sellers aren't doing it right is pretty ignorant.

FYI, I sold items nearly everyday for the last several months and did not have a single INR filed against me.

During the worst of it, I had 17 packages jammed up across the country. One of my buyers waited 54 days to receive his item and he is in a next-door state.

I spent 30 minutes to an hour communicating with all buyers involved daily, even if their package hadn't moved.....that is why no INR's and I'm still Top Rated. I operated and worked like a TR seller should.

Also, during the worst of it, any package searches filed were denied or closed 10 minutes after filing because they were so piled up they wouldn't even attempt to look for a single package in all of it.

If you're going to get on your soap box, do a little research first and know what you're talking about.
