Went to ship some soft bound books via media mail. Went to pirate ship which is usually cheaper then e-bay and noticed using Ground Advantage was a lot cheaper than it would have been using media mail.
In the past (pre 11/18) it was the other way around.
Any body else noticed this, or was mine a fluke?
Thanks.

GA like first class goes by zones so in some instances it can be cheaper for small zone distance difference.
For the most part media mail will be cheaper and is the same rate for all zones.
I think saying 'a lot cheaper' is a stretch.

It was almost $2.00 price difference.

Pirate ship announced some of their GA rates would be going down starting around the 18th.

I have found that heavier media mail shipments to nearby zones may be more expensive the ground advantage,

I'd definitely ship GA then, but when I ship media mail it's usually 16mm film and heavy, Media mail is always cheaper for that.

Shipping rates do " cross over " in some cases. Items that go a very short or long distance are most affected by it.
