I want to know how I can send a message to shipper as where to leave the packages because sometimes the leave items in the concierge, which is currently having a lock on the door that does not work and anybody can take my packages, plus me and my wife are handicapped and want all packages to be delivered to outside our door. The people that live in my building our very trustworthy Indians and we never have problems with anyone taking packages left at from door. Also, we don't work and are always home if the driver knocks loudly
Please respond,
My continued us of Ebay actually depends on your willingness to kindly leave all my packages at my door....
Thank You,
Terry

That has nothing to do with Ebay.
You need to contact the carriers and talk with them.

I'd complain about the lock on the door first. Until it's repaired, let your carriers know your wishes. Good luck.

eBay, or the seller, have no control over where your packages are left. Are the packages shipped USPS? If they are, you should speak with your local mail carrier.

Buyers are responsible for providing a safe place for the delivery of their packages not the sellers.
If the items you purchase are being shipped USPS you can go to your Post Office or USPS.com to request a hold on your mail and packages.

Thank you.
When I finalize my purchase using Amazon, I'm reminded were I'm having the purchased items shipped to and I can give special instructions to the driver for our gate code, and have the item left at my door. Giving our disabilities and the lack of security at our apartment. I'm very pleased with how Amazon handles these details.
However, it's been a long time since I used eBay, and I forgot the change to my new living address.
so, I ended up losing the shipment because the prompts to complete the purchase did not alert me that I was sending purchased item to old address. And secondly, I could not find out how to send instructions to the driver to leave our packages at are door. Me and my wife are both handicapped and on a heavy items we are just stuck because we can't travel to the concierge in 110 degrees heat.
If this isn't available or I have to spend way too much time to hunt down how to do this i will simply erase my eBay account and only use forward thinking businesses that help us old faulty seniors to minimize the grief of spending tons of our life currency that I just can't afford to waste anymore. I'm really sorry but this is truly from my heart, and just want a quick answer to set this up and/or if it's possible. from the one response from this inquiry It's super sad that my concerns a deep desire and hope to make this work for me seems bleak. I know that if Amazon can do this for me then perhaps Ebay can do this as well, no hard feelings it's just getting too time consuming for me to have so much challenging issues that burnup my precious life currency.
Thank You,
Terry Ellis.

Amazon has their own trucks, their own delivery men, Ebay does not have that, and has to depend on whatever service the seller chooses for deliveries.so, no..its not possible on Ebay...

This is typically available only on FBA purchases where the shipment is buy Amazon's own trucking services. And the drivers often ignore the instructions.
Our postman has a key to the lobby in a USPS lockbox, because he needs it to deliver any mail. Our regular UPS driver has the combination to a lockbox with the lobby key. No one in the building trusts the FEDEX drivers with the lockbox combo. The Amazon drivers also have the lockbock combination but only sometimes use it.

Most of the time, Amazon uses their own drivers and can give special instructions to their drivers.
Items bought on Ebay, it's up to the carriers where they leave packages, neither Ebay or the seller has any control over that.

This has me curious, how would Ebay know to prompt you that you were shipping to your old address? You were the one who didnt update your address, so thats on you.Im sure you will be much happier on Amazon.

Unfortunately, people have gotten used to doing things a certain way in this day and age. A good comparison with Amazon’s business model; I deliver for Uber Eats. The customer is ordering through the Uber Eats app, and Uber Eats has its own drivers (me being one), so very specific instructions can be left for delivery, and once I begin the delivery, after picking up the order, the instructions are easily visible to me.
ebay has never claimed to have the same business model as Amazon. Even attempting to compare them is, at best, comparing apples and oranges.

Amazon does NOT always 'self deliver' so even then, no matter WHAT instructions you leave, MANY sellers on Amazon use UPS, USPS, Fedex etc. and therefore Amazon has NO control either. NY 3rd
Also- if you give the wrong address- that is another BIG problem that would be a BIG problem with most ANY 3rd Party Seller (ebay, amazon, walmart etc.).
More than 50% of items sold on Amazon are NOT housed, packed or delivered BY Amazon- they are 3rd Party sellers. You need to look at who it is being SOLD by when on AZ.

interim work around.
Contact sell to see if they will write delivery instructions on the package.
carrier may or may not follow the instructions.

Sure. Just write the instructions ON THE PACKAGE.
ATTENTION CARRIER
(then be sure it is BRIEF. If you get too wordy it probably won't be read.)

Although ebay has no way of knowing whether an address is a current or previous address, you (as a buyer) do see and can choose or change a shipping address during the payment process and BEFORE you complete payment.
