Ship by December 24...

No problem...until I walked into my regular PO and saw the blinds closed, the door locked, & a note off to the side that read they would be closing at noon. It was after 1 when I got there.

No problem, this is a small PO, I'll drive into town to the busier location. Blinds closed, door locked, no note. Used the kiosk to check in the packages.

Checked USPS holiday schedule when I got home, no notice of locations closing early. Since the eBay order page stated to ship these items by the 24th I'll assume they were not aware of locations closing early.

Anyone else have their local PO close early today?

I think it's up to each location if they want to close early or not.

Ours is open regular hours today.

That's another good reason I'm lucky & can schedule pick-ups so I don't have to worry about their hours.

You have to be careful on Holidays.

I asked my PO when they were closing on the 24th, when I went in on the 23rd.

They informed me at noon.

So I made sure I dropped off my remaining packages before noon.

FYI: New Years Eve will be the same, you have to ask the hours.

Even other stores close early on the 24th of December...like Trader's Joe closes at 5PM today.

I never get notifications of anything closing early.

Where I worked, we did that most years. I volunteered to stay later so that packages that might be Holiday gifts could be picked up.

We posted "notice of early closing" ahead of time.

I talked with the clerk on the 26th expressing my surprise. She said they usually close early on the 24th & will post a notice. This year they were told there would not be an early closing (by the district manager) then flipped at the last minute.

My local USPS Office closed at noon on 24/December. However, all the mail carriers were out making regular deliveries on that day. I just gave my carrier my parcels with a scan sheet & everything was officially dropped off with an online scan as normal. Of course, I also handed the mail carrier a nice tin of Christmas cookies to thank them.
