Seller never shipped item--still "awaiting shipment" after delivery date

On May the 8th, I bidded and won on an item. The delivery date was 5/12-5/15, and I messaged him on the 14th and he never got back to me. The message asked if there is a problem or not. (He is in the United Sates as I am.) There is no option to file a claim (example no "I didn't receive item") or am I missing something? Also, it says "awaiting shipment".

Excuse me for my wording--I'm just a little nervous as I don't know what to do.

Awaiting Shipment can also mean it has been dropped off, the USPS has not scanned it yet

@pwkronus You have purchased an item on a platform that offers a money back guarantee, so you have nothing to worry about. Just follow the procedures for an item not received case once the estimated date of delivery has passed- you need to wait a day after. Go to your purchase history and select the item. Check the estimated date of delivery for your item and once that passes simply open an item not received case, the prompt will appear once enough time has passed. Mark it as item not received and follow the prompts. Either the seller will then ship your item, or you will eventually receive a full refund. You will not lose your money, but you do need to wait until the estimated date of arrival has actually passed. Best of luck to you....

First of all, thank you so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. The estimated day of delivery was the 15th and today is the 16th and the option is still not there, all it says is "contact seller", "ask to cancel", "sell this item" etc ... So, may I ask how long should I wait for that option to pop up? A full day?

If the option does not appear by tomorrow then you should contact eBay. Use either of the links below, they are easy to get in touch via social media now. Just create an account if you don't already have on and they will respond fairly quickly to you. However the option should be there by tomorrow as you have a money back guarantee. In the menu next to the item you should see a more actions button you should see “More Actions” 

Click that you should see “I didn’t receive it”.  Click on that follow the prompts. Good luck.

That's the problem--it's not there. It says: "contact seller", "ask to cancel", "sell this item" no " I didn't receive item".

In another post, I was told maybe it takes a FULL day, so I'll check again tomorrow, if nothing changed then I'll contact ebay. But thanks for replying.

Hey @pwkronus generally speaking, you will see the option appear the day after your latest estimated delivery date.  You should be seeing that option today!  If not, I would follow the advice of @lamber9347 and contact our Customer Service agents to get the case opened that way instead.

Now it's 5/18 and it's still not there--I've contacted ebay and they sent him a message.

and that is how I got in contact with ebay and as I said in another post, they contacted him and I have to wait until the 20th to see what happens. But thanks for the links, hopefully this'll help someone else!

USPS picked up an item from me on Monday morning. The carrier (a sub, not my regular guy) basically refused to scan the packages after I asked nicely. I was half-asleep and had my hands full with my dog, otherwise I would've taken my packages back from him and told him to get lost.

Lo and behold, they were picked up Monday, 5/15 @  11:15am and it is now 5/18 at 4am and one of the packages still says "awaiting shipment". 

Sometimes it's the carrier's fault, sometimes it's the sellers fault. You just never know.
