They said my item shipped today via USPS first class but uhmm it's labor day they're closed?? And no tracking number. Seems like they're trying to scam me out of 4$ lmao. Any ideas?

First Class with label can just go in a mail box.

I doubt it. Its easy to get your money back anyway.
Many sellers (including myself) ship on holiday and weekends. Tracking numbers (like marking it shipped in eBay) is not required in eBay. I would just wait until the last estimated delivery date has passed and then open a INR case in eBay.
But beware, many sellers hold that tracking number just for that INR case (which you will lose if it shows delivered)

It can be that the package is prepared for shipment using tomorrow's date - yes the PO is closed today, but the date will be/should be tomorrow. My PO will not accept a date that is more than 24 hrs old.
And to be perfectly honest, I do not think the seller is trying to scam you for $4.00. Good luck 🙂

The email you receive is when the label is printed off. I physically drop it off at the post office right after I print the label, so its the same things. Others may not. My post office is physically open 24X7.

Tracking may not be included for First Class Flat Envelope, but it is available for First Class Thick Envelope.
If a seller has the capability to print pre-paid USPS postage either through ebay shipping or through the USPS web site, they can get a tracking number any day of the week including holidays. Ebay shipping posts the tracking number to the transaction automatically. Or if the seller uses another label printing service they can enter the tracking number manually. As soon as a tracking number is entered, either automatically or manually, the item summary shows "shipped" even on a holiday. But when you click on the tracking number it will give a message: "The seller has provided a tracking number. The tracking status will be updated once the shipment reaches the carrier." The reality is that the only thing that happened so far is the printing of a shipping label. "In Transit" status won't start until it is handed off to the carrier.
If the seller used the First Class method that does not include tracking, the seller can click on the 'shipped' icon on their sold items screen to indicate that the item has been shipped. I think it is risky for a seller to use a shipping method that does not include tracking.

Many sellers these days print their postage online and either have the mail carrier pick it up or they drop it at the PO. I mostly sell small items that fit in padded mailers and I simply print the label at home and then have my husband stick it in the collection box in the back of PO (which is next to his job's parking lot) that night. If my husband has to work, I will ship things out on weekends and holidays 🙂

I shipped a package Sunday and I shipped one Monday. The Post Office was closed both days. Both were USPS First Class and both were deposited in the blue curbside mail boxes.

Since there is no tracking number it doesn't seem like an issue of printing a label. Being a cheap item maybe it's something the seller can just put stamps on and throw in the drop box ?
