Re: SHIPPING

Not a wise decision, especially before CHristmas. What goal are you trying to achieve by not listing anything anymore? Mail your items on time and you are set. You don' t have any neutral nor negative FB. What's the problem? When you receive the payment you can send a short note to your buyer informing them when you are going to mail their order (so they can see that you don't delay shipment) and also inform them about potential USPS (or whoever you use) delays due to COVID.

Re: SHIPPING

Who are you yelling at?

Unfortunately, shipping delays are something that appears to be a common occurrence these days.  If you plan to follow through with your stated plan you can probably just resign yourself to ending your eBay sales endeavors.

Re: SHIPPING

The shipping delays seem to have mostly cleared up-- I have shipped and received a total of about 16 things in the past three weeks and all of them were delivered within 3-4 days (both Priority and First Class), even the ones going clear across the country.

I shipped one thing Priority to NM from here in DC on the 6th and tracking shows it as being available for pickup at the buyer's PO box today. I shipped another First Class package to OR on the 7th and it's at the destination sort center already.

Re: SHIPPING

I agree, I have ordered 5 items in the past 2 weeks, all arriving within 3-4 days East Coast to West. But I did notice something strange with the printed ebay labels on my packages, they are blurry and the sellers had to hand write my name and address. Is something going on with the label printing app as I see a lot of recent topics on this issue?

Re: SHIPPING

No silverstatetreasureboxes.  It is your tears of joy dripping on your labels, making them blurry,  because you received your long awaited purchase 😉

Re: SHIPPING

I have only had a couple of delays with the items I have shipped, although not with items I sold on eBay, since the problems with the USPS started. Sometimes its not the shippers, I had one packaged delayed that I shipped to Louisiana that went out the day before hurricane Laura hit and another one that was delayed going into the heart of the wildfire situation in California.

I would suggest you keep on listing most buyers are fully aware of the current shipping problems and have accepted that fact.

Re: SHIPPING

I'm a mail carrier so I habitually stop listing during high volume times. Believe me this whole summer has been high volume.

The only things I have listed this summer/fall are some books and a few select items from the clothing I went through. A few pair of Lucky's that Ill never fit in again (if I lose that much weight I deserve brand new Lucky's). None of those few packages had any delays though.

I defiantly won't be listing this month as the political mail will probably be outlandishly abundant.

Re: SHIPPING

Something odd is going on with USPS. I dropped off 3 eBay packages and 7 AMZ ones in the parcel bin at the local post office. All the AMZ ones got acceptance scans and are on the way, but the eBay ones seemed to have disappeared into a black hole. Six days later; tracking doesn't even show that they were received by USPS.

Re: SHIPPING

PRO SELLERS TIP:

If your post office has a USPS Kiosk, you can scan your package yourself and put them in the BIN. And the tracking gets updated overnight with the Acceptance scan.

Touch the screen to begin.

Then Tap "Other Services" or "More Services" to bring up the "Scan Prepaid labels" option.

Scan or type in the scan sheet number or tracking number.

You can have your receipt printed then and there or emailed.

Re: SHIPPING

I learned a long time ago to NEVER just drop anything in a bin or a cart at the post office. I check the packages in and get a receipt for everything I drop at the post office. This includes anything I sell on eBay or any of the other forums. If it does not show up in the USPS tracking system within 1-2 hours I would be calling, fortunately I have never had to make that call.

If you ship anything fragile remember you never know what the next person is shoving into the bin or cart behind you. I have shipped a medium flat rate box that weighed 58 pounds. Not sure that is something you would want landing on top of your crystal shipment. 🤔

Re: SHIPPING

Here we go again with USPS delays. Article on NBC news says they are lagging behind again in the MIDWEST ESPECIALLY AND DC area. I have two packages with In transit and no scans for days after which means we are going through the whole sitting in the distribution center stuff or lost issue again. I have package traces on three orders now.

Re: SHIPPING

The labels on Ebay print smaller than before when you do the first print, and any of the ones I brought to the PO are UNSCANNABLE because the bar codes are BLURRY. I HAVE TO SAVE THE LABEL TO A PDF FILE, then it prints larger with no blurry barcode.

Re: SHIPPING

Yes, WARN the buyers again that there are going to be some delays again with USPS. They are dropping off again especially in the MIDWEST Region, as of this posting date. DC area also lagging behind.

Re: SHIPPING

Ebay needs to look into this with the blurry bar codes on the first print of their smaller print.
