Return problem

Bought an item on eBay.  Had a guaranteed delivery date of oct 26th. Needed by the 28th so that's why I bought it.  Did not get the item on sept 26th. Contacted the seller on oct 28th. Said they mailed it and that the guarantee is by eBay not them so I would have to call eBay.    Called eBay and left number for them to call back and they never called.  Wrote email. No response.  Called again left my number no call back. So I went to PayPal an filed a dispute.  Went back to eBay a third time and finally someone called back.  Said that as I filed a dispute with PayPal they cancelled ny eBay dispute. Said I would have to deal with PayPal.  PayPal doesn't answer their phones.  All I want is for a prepaid return label to ship it back and return it for a refund.  Any ideas?  Cust service has been terrible

Since you went through PayPal you will need to pay for return shipping.  That is their policy.

You have Sept and Oct written, so it's hard to follow. Somewhere in there apparently you now received the item (you did not state that) so you want to return for refund. You will have to continue through PP as you were told. Ebay does not have phone numbers for PP.  PP does not issue prepaid return labels, you will have to pay to return the item to the seller. 

During this CV19 there is nothing guaranteed when it comes to deliveries. 

You cannot open cases with both Ebay and PP at the same time. Once you opened with PP, you voided/ended the one with Ebay. This keeps people from getting refunded twice.

since you opened a dispute in PayPal eBay can do nothing.  You have to keep track of the dispute in PayPal to see how it is going. Since you also what a return, you got the item.

What kind of case did you file with PayPal??

You should also ask the seller to send you a request to revise your feedback you left. 

The "guarantee" is eBay's, not the sellers.  You have done a disservice to them through no fault of thier own.  If the seller shipped the item within their handling time and the item was as described then the transaction with the seller does not warrant a negative feedback.

The item OP bought does not have a guaranteed delivery date, it has an estimated delivery date.

As reed-sales stated, you received an estimated delivery date.  You are also a seller.  Would you like to receive the feedback that you left for that seller when you did everything in your power to make the transaction right and the post office delivered late?  Seriously.  Contact that seller and revise your feedback.

Ebay said it "guaranteed by".  I don't consider that an estimate.   They should not use that language

ebay said guaranteed by 9/26.  I was shooting in a match on oct 2nd. I figured I had more than enough extra time.  I bought another barrel on weds as I didn't have the one promised on 9/26.  What's fishy to me is that eBay says " guaranteed by " and when they don't do it everyone wants to makes excuses for eBay.  Don't say guaranteed if you know it can't make it there.  Seems pretty simple and a case of false advertising.

Totally fair point and I will do that for the seller.

 I don't understand why you all accept "guaranteed by" as an estimate.  If it's an estimate it should say "estimated by" not guaranteed

When it was listed initially it said guaranteed by sept 26.   I called. The seller and they must have had that changed.

I may have not explained myself well.  When I bought it..it stated " Guaranteed by Sept 26th". They have changed thier listing since I called and now say estimated delivery.  I bought it from them as it was guaranteed so I assume was beind sent in a way that it would get here by the date that they said "guaranteed by"

eBay flips between Estimated and Guaranteed delivery dates e.g.

- Before you log in and after you log in

- When you're on the listing and when you go to Checkout

- If you're shipping to yourself or if you're shipping to another address

As the purples have explained, eBay chooses whether or not to offer their Guaranteed Delivery based on data they gathered about that delivery location, and we should suspect on how many times the buyer has claimed late delivery.

So even here, some posters may be seeing Guaranteed Delivery on that listing, while others may only be seeing an Estimated Delivery date.

It looks like the last time the seller changed shipping details was on August 6th.
