Return problem

Bought an item on eBay.  Had a guaranteed delivery date of oct 26th. Needed by the 28th so that's why I bought it.  Did not get the item on sept 26th. Contacted the seller on oct 28th. Said they mailed it and that the guarantee is by eBay not them so I would have to call eBay.    Called eBay and left number for them to call back and they never called.  Wrote email. No response.  Called again left my number no call back. So I went to PayPal an filed a dispute.  Went back to eBay a third time and finally someone called back.  Said that as I filed a dispute with PayPal they cancelled ny eBay dispute. Said I would have to deal with PayPal.  PayPal doesn't answer their phones.  All I want is for a prepaid return label to ship it back and return it for a refund.  Any ideas?  Cust service has been terrible

I may have not explained myself well.  When I bought it..it stated " Guaranteed by Sept 26th". They have changed thier listing since I called and now say estimated delivery.  I bought it from them as it was guaranteed so I assume was beind sent in a way that it would get here by the date that they said "guaranteed by"

It's in your email. I just searched for "guaranteed delivery" in my email,

and from 6 months ago, it still shows my original Guaranteed Delivery date.

And as explained, the type of delivery date changes depending on who is looking at the listing, or in your case, if the listing has ended with no more stock, so eBay can no longer show a guaranteed delivery date.

Re: Return problem

I can't speak for anyone else, but I accept "guaranteed" as an estimate because I know that I don't work for the post office or any other delivery service.  How could I possibly "guarantee" that an item will be delivered by an exact date?  Once I hand over my packages to a company, the shipment times are out of my hands (unless I'm paying big bucks for something like overnight/express...and even then it might not be delivered).  Why eBay "guarantees" delivery is a mystery to me.  But, like many other promises that eBay states, I don't believe much of what they say.

do you reall think that a CSR is ever going to hep you with a guaranteed delivery problem. The  CSR told them to go with paypal instead of getting the servcie they asked for which was Guaranteed delivery.

getting service from ebay is like a minefield, one wrong step and you just screwed yourself

Re: Return problem

I never said that I think it's okay for eBay to drop the ball on any problem.  I don't think that a CSR will help you with any problems really.  They all seem to disagree with each other, so how could they help a buyer/seller?  Like I said earlier, the way eBay operates is a mystery to me.  I feel bad for both the buyer and seller in this situation.  The buyer thought they would get something on a date that they thought was specified by the seller.  The seller seems to not have specified that date but got slammed for it anyway.  Now neither party is happy.
