Just another reminder about the new size rules and their fees starting in April. (insert eye roll here)

I wonder what will happen with Large Flat Rate 'GAME' boxes; are they now going to be $24 instead of (almost) $20?
Small Triangles I guess will automatically be $4 plus? (26x6x6)

That's a useful reminder, especially since many sellers probably haven't seen it before. Here are a few details:
1. The current formula for determining dimensional weight is the volume in cubic inches, divided by 166. Once you're past the threshold of 1728 cubic inches, a one-inch difference in package dimensions can have a big impact on the postage cost.
3. The exact language for this new fee says: "Add $1.50 for commercial parcels that exceed 1 cubic foot or with a length greater than 22 inches, if the customer did not provide dimensions or provided inaccurate dimensions in the electronic manifest file." In other words, it's a penalty if you get caught trying to avoid or underpay these surcharges.

I have no idea what entry #2 in that list means. Can anybody explain?

Ouch!! I hadn't seen that. Guess I need to look into UPS, the post office is getting nuts with their pricing, smh

Sorry about #2. I just copied and pasted from the USPS site. I figure its much like #3, don't try to get away with anything!

Look to UPS is you want to get quoted $8 to ship something, and then get charged $80 a month later, which Ebay has absolutely no problem with, as it's gone on for years now.
I assume that with this new rates and requirements, that the Ebay USPS calculator will do the same thing. Give you a lowball quote and then charge you a penalty 3 or 4 weeks down the road when it's wrong.
I never use UPS, because I hate being charged 10x more than what I was quoted when I put the right dimensions and weight in, there's no excuse why UPS can't provide an accurate shipping quote on ebay, but can on their own website. And there's no excuse for Ebay allowing them to get away with it for so long.

I heard that they have discontinued the Large Flat Rate Game boxes (24" long), and they are no longer an option on the USPS free boxes website. I went the Post Office and they had none left.

So, before April, throw out everything big that you planned to sell or sell it now, while you still can ship it.

What if you are mailing a poster in a large cardboard tube? Are tubes classified as "Parcels"?

Good thing I have about 400 of them!

I remember when their slogan was we deliver for you. Now, ship small or pay it all.
I don't think they were ever set up for packages. They seem best equipped for handling mail or "flats" in postal speak.
Puts the squeeze on sellers.

They were handling packages ok but the Great Reset and its obsession with forcing online over retail turned everything upside down.
"IMpb Noncompliant Fee or eVS Unmanifested Fee, add $0.25 per piece."
I have no idea what IMpb or eVS mean. I suppose if they were applicable to me I would know.

If you have any Large FR Game boxes left, USPS will honor the flat rate pricing. (I don't remember where exactly I read that, so if someone has a link please post it.) I ordered a pack when it was announced they were discontinued. I don't use them often, but they do come in handy sometimes so it was worth getting them as I only had 2 left.
Priority mail triangles (and unbranded tubes someone else asked about) will be subject to surcharges starting at 22". They were never flat rate so there's no grandfathered in pricing. You can cut them down to 21" if your item is short enough to fit and avoid the surcharge, but if you do that you should cover up the bar codes so the system doesn't assume the longer length.

From what I've heard, there is now also going to be a surcharge for hand-scanning tubes because they have a tendency to roll in the automated facilities. I work for a company that has something of a solution in the works that could help costs. I'm shamelessly promoting them here, but would legit appreciate any thoughts on this idea. you can check it out here https://erdie.com/pages/non-roll-endcaps
They also have the triangle ones for those looking, but I personally prefer the super strong tube structure.
