Post offie put wrong shipping label on 2 boxers.Buyer #1 contacted me to inform me of contents, which was similar to Buyer #2 purchase. I had buyer #2 refuse shipment so it would come back to me for free. Since I offered free shipping and buyer #2 shipping cost 22.00 plus ebay fees, once I receive back can I just refund him him money for items as the cost to reship back to both will give me more then a total loss. Thank you

Well just so you know under eBay policy when you offer free shipping you are required to ship using the method stated in the listing. And when you downgrade, your shipping metrics may take a hit and you will probably miss the latest delivery estimate given by eBay and open yourself up to an item not received case.

Nope....didnt happen.

This is a public forum and anyone can post on it.
The fact is you keep blaming the post office and "selling on ebay", changing shipping methods ect, when its your fault 100%.
Changing the shipping method is a HUGE no no and if you keep up your practice of doing so, you will end up with angry buyers.

Save time and money by purchasing and printing your labels at home. You do have a printer at home?

I usually use priority click and ship no problem however wanted to know most affordable way to ship. 2 boxes at same time passed in window, and I had lables filled out but was told ground was most affordable for one so had to purchase new lable. Yes I should have affixed them prior but again wanted to make sure of size and weight. Newsflash PO employees make mistakes. People here for help with situations not to be put down etc. Stuff happens!
@527bats Newsflash: no matter who made the mistake, your "the dog ate my homework attitude" doesn't speak well for your approach regarding how to resolve a rather serious issue that can significantly impact you as a seller
The frustration and anger you're feeling right now as a result of responders voicing their opinions is minuscule compared to how you'll feel if you don't forget about who's right and wrong and who's paying what, and get the items your customers paid for to them ASAP. If you have good business sense, you'll voluntarily issue them both refunds and offer a profuse apology to each, claiming full responsibility for this whole hot mess.

Nope, it is just a meter strip and barcode. It does not contain either the ships to or the return address.

Not at the counter, butthe post office does print full-size address labels with the return address.

Not with the full addresses, it doesn't. The kiosks only print out the destination city and zip code, as your photo shows. The dialogue is asking you if this label will fit in addition to the full address info that you presumably already have on the package.

Free EXPEDITED shipping was offered, and that is the way it should have been sent. Downgrading the shipping could have gotten you a well deserved neg even if the packages were not switched.
And as for the switching. You said the labels were not attached prior to being at the PO because you wanted to check the weights. Could you during the trip to the PO mix up which label when with which package?

Perhaps you should do what I do with my care packages.
Since they are usually LFRB's and I usually pack 6 to 12 at once, I line them up around my kitchen island. Where the label will go I write the last name and what was requested. These items go in the box first and are checked off as I add them. Then the box is filled with other items. When full I tape them and give a good shake (if it rattles or shifts something else is added). Then I match the name on the label with the name I wrote on the box as I attach them.

In what circumstance does the USPS put labels on boxes? Aren't boxes supposed to arrive at the post office already labeled by the seller?
