Post offie put wrong shipping label on 2 boxers.Buyer #1 contacted me to inform me of contents, which was similar to Buyer #2 purchase. I had buyer #2 refuse shipment so it would come back to me for free. Since I offered free shipping and buyer #2 shipping cost 22.00 plus ebay fees, once I receive back can I just refund him him money for items as the cost to reship back to both will give me more then a total loss. Thank you

The chances that a postal employee put the wrong label on a box seems nearly impossible to me since they handle one package at a time.
Regardless, as a seller, you are responsible for this mistake - not the post office, even if what you suggested had somehow happened. It is also your responsibility to get those packages to your customer - actually our shared customer - and this means that they need to be reshipped. If you cancel these purchases honestly, it will lead to two defects (which are bad for your account).

The last time I was there it was just postage label.
That's why I asked if the OP had used a pack and ship place, I've never heard of a post office putting the ship to info on the box for someone.

As I stated needed the boxws weighed and measured for correct ship cost. I usually use priority click and ship no problem however wanted to know most affordable way to ship. 2 boxes at same time passed in window, and I had lables filled out but was told ground was most affordable for one so had to purchase new lable. Yes I should have affixed them prior but again wanted to make sure of size and weight. Newsflash PO employees make mistakes. People here for help with situations not to be put down etc. Stuff happens!

You should have figured out shipping before you listed. If your listing for the item didn’t specify ground shipping you shouldn’t have shipped ground.

Just to clarify at my post office there are glass partitions. Boxes get put in between a partition on a scale. The PO clerk if needed as in this case weighed and measured boxes for cost then I was informed in which I needed to purchase a label and rewrite it. She then processed 2nd box that was next to first box, very similar in color, weight but going to different destination. She then put labels on. I should have been more vigiliant with what was going. It was a mistake and thats fine, I just want to do whats best for my buyers. Don't need people saying it's impossible, it could and does happen.

I wasn't trying to put you down. I was just trying to understand what happened since I've never encountered a post office that put my shipping labels on the boxes. If you are printing postage labels at home, you must have a scale and you must measure them. If you buy postage at the post office, you still need to have a label or something on the boxes with the addresses.
Regardless, you need to send the package to your paying buyer.

What shipping method did you offer in your listing? After a sale is not the time to change it to a cheaper method.

Would be so much easier to just admit the mistake then continue to deny it and put it all on the PO clerk when clearly the responders know that’s not possible. The PO doesn’t print address labels, they don’t have the ability to do that.

What you should do is send your buyers what they ordered at the price they paid. It's that simple. The mistake was on your end and you should be fixing it at your expense.
At this point, you are already flirting with negative feedback, why encourage it?

Free shipping offered. It was groung but I wanted to be sure I was correct on the cost. I am very grateful that both buyers are incredibly patient and helpful with the situation. Just want to get it all straight.

Trying to do just that. Very thankful that both my buyers are understanding and helpful and patient with all this. One said it happened to him so he understood. Just need to get this done asap.

Never said not my fault! Read on, or keep your comment to yourself. This is a sight for help and information not to make remarks.

Really? I had to purchase a new label and she put it on package. I am not putting blame on PO clerk entirely, I should have done it, checked it whatever. Let my guard down. People make mistakes. Never ask a question on here again.
