I'm in Ft Worth, Texas
The Post Office has turned into a disaster for me.
Items don't show any movement for days, Items dropped off at the post office appear as not being scanned and then they show up delivered weeks later after I have refunded the customer'
Post office personnel tell me this is nation wide.
I've had minor problems in the past but this is now costing me money and I don't seem to have a plan "B"
Please tell me that this is not just me.
HELP

Thank you for responding. I am certainly aware of why this is happening. The only thing I try to control is making sure the customers know that I mailed on time.
I recently dropped off quite a few packages without getting a receipt. five of these packages show , on the tracking, that a tracking number has been provided. The customer believes that the package has never been given to the post office.
I don't think this will end soon but I will never leave the post office again without getting a receipt.

That was a great general reply. Most of my packages are picked up and scanned by my mail carrier. The problem is not getting a receipt when actually taking packages to the post office.
Thanks for your comment.

I haven't set foot in my local Post office in quite awhile now. All my packages are picked up by my mail carrier at my house. Scheduling pickups is easy and very convenient. Why take unnecessary trips to the P.O.?

Thanks for your reply.
90% of my packages are picked up by the carrier. Most of the time they can not get all the packages in their car. Yes, their car so I take anything they can not get along with anything that came in after the carrier has already left to the post office.
Also. a lot of my packages are fragile and taking to the post office is one less handling.
This problem NEVER existed before. My post office is rural and I know the people and they acknowledge that there is a serious problem.
The real problem is most of the packages in the last 6-8 weeks show that they were accepted but show little or no movement.
Again, thanks for taking time to respond.

Nope, posts offices around the NYC area will not scan them and will not give you a receipt. You are told to place them in a small room or they will stack them on other pre-labeled packages. They are not scanning them at drop off.

I understand. Are you experiencing usps shipping delays in your area?
Thanks for the response

My outbound parcels pass through West Sacramento, CA and problems have been minimal. The only s-l-o-w outbound I have had lately is a parcel going to Roseburg, OR which is going to take about 7 days. I could drive there in less than 7 hours!
Now, inbound mail has had some issues as some days, usually Mondays, there seems to be some reluctance to get the mail from West Sac to small rural Post Offices, like mine.
In addition to Covid issues, my PO person says there have been (unsubstantiated) rumblings about the "blue flu".

I agree it depends on the post office. My packages are mostly small enough that I can put the in a blue mailbox. Very rarely do I have one not scanned.
