otal nightmare – zero accountability!

I’ve been using eBay’s prepaid label system to streamline my sales process. Last week, I sold an item and, as always, dispatched it the same day using a Parcelforce 24 label purchased through eBay. Dropped it off on Friday—since then, a complete nightmare. The parcel appears to be lost. It was due for delivery on Tuesday, but the buyer keeps asking for updates, and I’m stuck in a loop. Parcelforce refuses to assist because the label wasn’t purchased directly from them, and eBay support keeps telling me to contact Parcelforce. Neither side is taking responsibility, and no one seems to know who should resolve this. eBay needs proper procedures in place—implementing a system without accounting for these issues is unacceptable!

 

I will be taking this matter to ombudsman, already requested to escalate my eBay support chat to official complaint.

What does tracking show?

Since Ebay didn't lose the package, not sure what they would be able to do.

Thank you for your reply.

 

The tracking status shows “collected,” but there’s no further information. Unfortunately, since eBay acts as the middleman between me purchasing the label and Parcelforce, I have no direct control over the shipment. This creates a frustrating situation where I can’t claim compensation, block or cancel the delivery to issue a refund, or even attempt to recover the item. Both eBay and Parcelforce are refusing to take responsibility!

I would wait a few more days for an update.   It's probably still onboard a plane somewhere.  Or siting waiting on tariffs, taxes, or VAT valuation or a combination thereof.

 

If it's not due to be delivered yet, then wait for it.

I paid extra for the 24-hour service, yet more than a week has passed, and the parcel still hasn’t arrived. This service failure warrants an immediate refund. Additionally, Parcelforce has confirmed that they are unable to locate the parcel and have no idea where it is. This is not just a matter of waiting; eBay must have proper procedures in place when selling shipping labels, especially if doing so interferes with the standard processes of the service provider.

Where are you shipping from and to?  I see you are in the UK.  It's taking me 6 days to ship from coast to coast in the USA, and sometimes up to 9 days depending on weather or ?

The weather has been hitting us hard in the northeast of the USA, so I'm thinking maybe harsh conditions could be slowing things down elsewhere.  Maybe planes can't take off because of snow or ice, or something like that...

 

I'd still give it another week.  Something doesn't show movement by then, I'd get really concerned.

Hi, You're on ebay.com, which is the US site. Sometimes the eBay policies and procedures for the US are not the same as for the UK. You'll get better replies if you go to the UK discussion board:

Since you're in the UK, you'll probably get more help posting on the UK site.

We don't have Parcelforce in the US and don't know much about it.
