Parcel select is slow..what is your estimated delivery date? I wouldnt worry about it until that has passed.

I would give it a week to arrive, you have thirty days at Ebay to open a case and six months at PP..which im sure you know, as you are also a seller.

I had 2 1st class packages coming and both tracking numbers showed they were "in transit" yesterday. YET in the top left of the tracking history it said "delivered". Sure enough~~even though the tracking hadn't updated they were both in my box at the post office. Don't rely totally on what tracking shows you~~USPS can be slow in updating the tracking info.

Sounds to me like you bought from a new or very inexperienced seller.
That being said, The speed Parcel Select packages arrive depends on the location of the sender and the destination, and only use it for very large or heavy items where the savings justify it.
I live in Mi. and often PS packages going to Ca. go through Pa. usually in 1 day, then go from there to Ca. (Don't ask I do not know why) Along the way a package may stop in St. Louis or Chicago, show info in and out of a facility (or not) then the in route message, until arriving at the local P.O. The USPS Parcel select estimate is usually 9 working days. Since parcel select is USPS' ground system, if the load is going non stop from one destination to another, the drivers Have to take breaks by law. If an item arrives at a Regional facility after 3pm on a Saturday it is usually not unloaded until Monday.
Then there can be the times when not only does the package go east before going west, but it can go much further west, and come back east.
One package sent early in Dec, started in Mi, enroute to Tx. 1st to Pa. then to nowhere Iowa, on to Ca. through Nv. and Ok, before reaching Texas 17 days later, 2 days before Christmas Eve, thankfully.
Priority mail delays this year have been due to some facilities being upgraded. Which means they may, be slower getting out of a facility, or go through smaller facilities that have trouble with the volume of packages, so there are delays.

Aren't you located in Massachusetts? Haven't y'all been experiencing severe weather recently? Could that have anything to do with the delay?

We've had three snowstorms in the past 3 weeks, with another one due tomorrow. Fortunately, we're prepared for it and there's rarely more than a day of disruption before the roads are clear and everything's back to normal. (Well, except for people who are crazy enough to build houses on the beach.)
Plus the OP said that the package hasn't gotten even close yet. That 3 days of "in transit" message means it's stuck on a truck someplace, not even getting processed.

" the post office said he could't send it in a protiry mail box he he had to repackage "
Why?

Probably becuase he had purchased a Parcel Select label.
Or maybe it was a hazmat type of item that had to be shipped ground, but he had originally purchased a Priority Mail label.

So then what does that leave you?

? I don't understand your question?
