I had 3 similar issues.
I had 4 items sold as a combined purchase that weigh 5 oz when shipped one at a time. But with the combined ship the average weight goes dowm to 3 oz per item and due to sharing the same box and shipping supplies. The system did not offer me first class mailing option and required me to use priority mail that would have been 6 dollars more expensive. Again this is a classic example of EBAY rolling out programs without properly testing them and has been my greatest pain point for many years. My fix was to go to classic view and select one item to ship, alter the shipping weight to 12 OZ, and then manually enter the tracking in the other 3 items.
I needed to reprint a label as a combined shipping order was missing an item out of 6 sold. In this case I could not reprint a label and sent out the additional item standard first class with US stamps.
A customer tried to combine a ship with a 3 lb priority and 12 oz 1st class. The system would not allow him to request an invoice and per message received.
My greatest frustration is that changesmade are always this time of year and when us retailers are trying to capatilize on the buying season. The changes always slow you down and have gliches. Last year it was seller hub and this year it is the shipping program.
I feel beating my head against the wall over the last 4 years has not helped. Ebay simply does not listen to it;s sellers and I would not expect them to start anytime soon. Over the last 18 months we have begun selling items on other sites to protect our best interest. While EBAY sales are decent they are not that much greater than other sites that are more affordable and more user friendly to operate.
