Did you mean:

Learned Hard Way: you cannot ship an item USPS first class if package is OVER 22 inches!

When did usps start this?  I lost money on that listing bc I had to end up shipping it priority!

Far as I know it's been that way for some time

Maximum Size: 22 inches in length, 18 inches in width, 15 inches in thickness.

I can't tell you when USPS started it, but I can tell you that it's been that way for like forever, now. Sorry...

eBay used to have it incorrectly set at 18 inches. For us, anyway.

I took a break from selling my garage items.  It wasn't like that 2 or 3 years ago!

I'm not sure when it kicked in, but that time frame sounds about right 2-3 years ago

Always a good Idea to freshen up on what's changed anytime you have been away from something for that period of length

A few years sounds about right.  I used to sell posters in 24" tubes and then they became Priority.  Cost too much to ship posters after that.

Those are the dimensional limits for online First Class package postage.

If you're willing to pay retail (either at the Post Office or online through USPS Click N Ship), then the size limit is still a length-plus-girth of 108 inches. Costs about a dollar more than the online rate, but still cheaper than Priority. Weight limit is 13 ounces.  See section 6.4:
