I shut my store down a month ago due to USPS shipping delays. It was and is painful.
Can anyone tell me if USPS shipping time is anywhere near the old normal yet?

Nope

Not even close. From everything I am following maybe by late January - early February. They still have a HUGE backlog of warehouse packages that have yet to be cleared.

No, I openend up Monday, made a sale and the package is stuck at the sorting center 30 miles from my house. Ended all my listings and will try again in February.

Things aren’t back to normal but they are much better than one month ago. I’ve had no wait at the post office the past few days, which is a great sign.
i’ve needed to upgrade most of my shipping - no longer using much media mail. Almost everything goes priority - which makes my life easier with packing, and does provide better service than MM. My only two real problem areas are Philadelphia and direct export. GSP is working very well for me.

Depends on where and how you are shipping. I shipped two packages from Pennsylvania by USPS first class mail on Monday. The one package to California arrived on Wednesday (two days). The second package to Delaware is still sitting in transit. "Sporadic" to answer your question.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! Usps is going to be a bad service for a long time. The election, the virus, the massive orders for Christmas and NOW ther massive returns. No way would I take a chance on this right now. Unless I wanted to unload my merchandise for free for INR cases.

the coast is not clear for shipping but its clear to make money.I still ship 40 packages a week with the USPS and have not rally had any INR..my buyers must be very patient waiting on 1st class shipping
keep on selling

NO!!!!! Stay off line and "on vacation" until at least June of this year!
After all there is nothing you could do to help buyers understand shipping delays (sarcasm noted)
Plus we all want reduced competition for our stores!
So put your feet up, get a nice adult beverage and sit back and relax!

Biden moved the White House to Delaware so now everything moving in & out of there has to be screen by the Secret Service like it was going to DC. That explains the delays.

I don't think so. I had a Priority Mail package scaned in on Dec 6. This is a message I just received from usps. Your item arrived at our BALTIMORE MD DISTRIBUTION CENTER origin facility on January 7, 2021 at 9:12 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination. I mailed the package in Baltimore. It took a month to leave the state. Who knows how much longer it will take to finally be delivered. The buyer has already received a refund and so have I. USPS is still a mess.
